One housekeeping product you couldn't live without...

And what do you use it for?

We're moving into our shiny new house soon! Grin And I'm hoping to kind of have 'capsule' cleaning products/cloths so that they'll fit into my new caddy (which I love!)

Ideally everything will fit in together and I can just carry it from room to room. Instead of having loads of random stuff under the sink like I usually do, I'd like to whittle them down to the best ones and keep 'em all together.

So what's your fave cleaning product?

Washing up liquid and Cif. Nothing else needed.

Eaudeunaturale · 23/08/2020 22:03

Bleach for the toilet....no loo brush here Wink

Flash bathroom in the big bottle, usually about a £1, chuck it around the bath and sink and wipes off easily if I forget about it

Steppingonrakes · 23/08/2020 22:12

Ecloths. The only products I use are disinfectant and bleach for the toilet and Hobrite for the glass job. E cloths de-grease everything and make them sparkle and are the one thing I’d not want to do without

Steppingonrakes · 23/08/2020 22:12

For the glass Hob (not job)!

anothermansmother · 23/08/2020 22:19

Bar keepers friend, the powder one not the spray. It gets marks off everything.
Also method glass spray and their wood spray.

I have a holiday cottage that I have to clean within an inch of its life to maintain my 5-star rating and my most used item (which I hardly ever use at home) is glass/mirror spray and kitchen roll. Use it (after cleaning) on glass/mirrors/hob/microwave/toaster/inside fridge/TV/sink/taps etc. Its gives that super level of finish beyond 'clean' - not important for my house, but essential for paying guests.

minipie · 23/08/2020 22:29

Viakal - we have hard water so limescale appears in seconds.
Window & glass cleaner - no point cleaning glass with anything else, it will smear (yes vinegar works but then it reeks of vinegar!)

Which one do you use?
MJMG2015 · 23/08/2020 22:37

It won't fit in your Caddy, but I have to say my Harvey's Water Softner. Bloody expensive, but worth every penny!!

After that it's a three way split between Dettol Surface Cleaner/Bleach/ Fairy Liquid

ladykuga · 23/08/2020 23:19

Magic Erasers. I'm amazed every time I use them.

Immigrantsong · 23/08/2020 23:20

Bleach.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 23/08/2020 23:37

Alkimi glass cleaner. Best one I've used. And smells nice.

MadamShazam · 24/08/2020 19:22

Zolflora, washing up liquid, Method Almond floor cleaner, and my recent find Fabulosa wild rhubarb disinfectant spray. You can spray it on everything and the whole house smells lovely.

Nsky · 24/08/2020 19:38

Bio d sanitizer, washing up liquid ( bio d again), metal scourer and laundry bleach ( dies general bleaching powdered too)

DottyFlossie · 24/08/2020 19:42

Barkeepers Friend. Microfibre cloths. Thick bleach.

HeyMicky · 24/08/2020 21:03

Astonish cup cleaner. I use it in the butlers sink and it lifts all scuffs and dark marks

LadyEloise · 30/08/2020 09:15

Remember bleach goes back into the water cycle when you pour it down the loo and sink.
It can't be good for us. Sad

Astonish in a tub is good for ceramic hobs.

I second magic erasers. Amazing.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/08/2020 12:11

Shark Steamer - it won't fit in your caddy but it'll free up a lot of space Grin

I have cats so cleaning with steam means no residue on their paws .

Justpassingtime1 · 01/09/2020 06:19

MyFabulosa range especially their 4 in 1 stuff which you can use on most surfaces inc upholstery.
They do some petfriendly disinfectants as well eg Sage and Vanilla.
I like it as it is without cruelty to animals .
