I'd go with the open windows for half an hour and stick an extra jumper on.

Open the windows.

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 01/10/2007 09:21

Make a curry - that will get rid of the veg smell! lol!

massivebigpantsface · 01/10/2007 09:22

open the windows! Nice fresh flowers too.

Cappuccino · 01/10/2007 09:23

orange oil or lemon oil

in burner or couple drops in water to mop floors (if you were mopping them anyway, don't make special effort )

Chirpyghoul · 01/10/2007 09:27

Is there really no other option apart from opening windows?
I can't open mine as I have birds in the sitting room and unfortunately their jumpers are in teh wash

We tend to brew a lot of coffee if we get bad smells but apart from that we can't do much else.

codswallop · 01/10/2007 09:29

"obviously in this weather i cant just open all the doors "

codswallop · 01/10/2007 09:29

Blondie79 · 01/10/2007 09:30

A peeled onion on a plate

codswallop · 01/10/2007 09:31

hotcrumpets · 01/10/2007 09:32

put some cinnemon sp? sticks on atray in the oven for half an hour

Cappuccino · 01/10/2007 09:32

cod you are a weird fish

the other day you were all 'ooh looks cold' on the dress thread like a granny

and then you're telling other people to fling open their windows

NannyL might be in Orkney for all you know not swimming in Southern climes like yourself

I still haven't forgotten my children crying with cold after you said we were wusses for not going to the park

SpawnChorus · 01/10/2007 09:32

How about doing some ironing or hanging clean washing to dry on the radiators.

I really would open the windows at least a little bit though.

Isn't there some tip from Anthea Turner which involves putting a couple of drips of essential oil in a dish of bicarb of soda and leaving it in the whiffy room?

Cappuccino · 01/10/2007 09:33

I thought the onion was for gloss paint

codswallop · 01/10/2007 09:33

god i had forgottent hat cappy!

Chirpyghoul · 01/10/2007 09:34

I can't clean with smelly stuff though, it will kill my birds. I have to use natural products that don't smell strongly....which means my room is clean but still smells of toddler sick (currently)

(sorry for hijacking NannyL but I am dying to see what people suggest!)

codswallop · 01/10/2007 09:34

Open the windows.

And, when you cook, open the kitchen window while cooking and make sure you keep the kitchen door closed to prevent the smells escaping and permeating the rest of the house.
