Spidermama - I do allow for flexibility to some extent - eg: if I get home on Weds and fancy baked potatoes it's easy enough to swap with a meal planned for later in the week, as I'll have the ingredients ready. However, it's so lovely not having to THINK about food after work; I just go on auto-pilot and get on with it, so in a way it's nicer to know in advance what we're having. I don't mind the cooking after work but I HATE the "oh what shall we have" routine - if I allow myself to get like that I usually end up too tired to make a decision and eating rubbish (or toast and marmalade) instead!

Wow, amazing. How you plan all this in advance?

Yesterday we had fishfingers and lasagna courtesy of Sainsbury, but my excuse is that we came home late from camping.

Today, Chicken in sweet and sour sauce and wilde rice for me and the kids, Goamki (sp) a polish dish consisting of home made meatballs surrounded by cabbage leaves cooked in tomato sauce with wild rice, with Blueberry Pierogi for pudding.

Tuesday: Lamb shank, vegetables and potatoes
Wednesday: Goulage Soup
Thursday: Spaghetti Bolognese
Friday: Beef with bernaise sauce, sauteed mushrooms, Fresh asparagus with rock salt, new potatoes, and birthday cake. It is my Au Pairs birthday.

No idea for saturday / sunday.

Oh, and the only reason I know what I will make all the way till friday is that I have to defrost my freezer, and I have all this meat...
