Samsung Ecobubble

Ours is new, only had it a week I’ve noticed the powder isn’t fully being emptied from the drawer. It’s getting wet and about half is used the other half so of solidifies and stud in the drawer. I’ve used 40 degree washes so far.

Any ideas?

How much powder are you putting in?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/02/2020 16:54

Shock yes maybe too much in the first place? It was same as my last machine and no problem there but maybe the Ecobubble needs less? I use the little jug that came with the iron, one scoop.

I have a scoop with measurements. I use around 100mls as I have a 9kg machine (also ecobubble)

BammBamm · 07/02/2020 17:17

I'm sorry to say I regretted swapping my very basic hotpoint with a small capacity for one of these machines, it was awful.
If you can send it back, I would. Customer service is awful. I refused the third repair in 10 months and insisted on refund or replacement as I don't believe they are fit for purpose. It was AO that sorted this for me as Samsung insisted I accepted repairs and offered me £10 Voucher for compensation for 5 days off work when I complained. That was their final decision.
It washed things very poorly and had multiple leaks. The repair man warned me off buying any further Samsung appliances.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/02/2020 17:18

I’ve just checked the scoop and it’s 200ml to the top, I’m probably using 150-200ml so that’s way too much isn’t it? I’ll reduce! Thank you, not sure why that didn’t occur to me, I figured it just used whatever you put it!

I had this with my Samsung. I now put the powder directly in the drum then the washing on top. I need a full scoop of powder as I live in a hard water area and always run the machine fully loaded. It works fine and I haven't had any problems with unrinsed residue.

TulipCat · 07/02/2020 17:25

I have both the ecobubble washing machine and tumble dryer. I love them! Had them both about 6 years and never had a problem with either. I would say, though, apparently lots of repair men are put off by their slightly more techy nature and you're better off getting the proper Samsung people in if you ever need to.

HopeYouStepOnALego · 07/02/2020 17:28

I have an Ecobubble to and this used to happen when my DH (rarely!) put a load on. He always poured too much powder in the drawer.

We use pods now which you just throw in the drum. Helps keep the drawer/machine sludge free too.

lyingwanker · 07/02/2020 17:31

I have the same problem with the powder in the drawer when I add extra "vanish" powder in alongside the regular stuff so it must be that it's over loaded.

A couple of days after getting my Samsung I regretted it, and still do a year later. The first one had to be repaired as the electrics in it were knackered after 3 days! The add wash door just collects muck and scum and smells gross. I really wish I'd got what I actually planned on getting, a Miele.

BrightonBB · 07/02/2020 17:31

You actually need less powder than you think - better for the environment and your purse. I’m happy with my Samsung. I especially love the little tune when finished and that it tells me when to run the clean cycle.

iusedtohavechickens · 07/02/2020 17:57

Have traded my Samsung eco bubble in for a Miele, the Samsung was awful. Left marks on clothing, made holes in clothes, not spinning properly. Customer service was a waste of time. Maybe send it back and get something else?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/02/2020 18:20

That’s great, I can’t afford a Miele though

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 07/02/2020 18:22

My ecobubble works fine.

BammBamm · 07/02/2020 18:28

We switched for a Miele, it's a world away from the Samsung. 5 year warranty which can be extended to 10 for a reasonable amount, so I think it will work out cheaper in the long run.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/02/2020 18:53

And what do I do on the mean time whilst I save? Christ some people have no flipping idea do they!

This is one of the most expensive (probably THE most expensive) appliance I have ever bought for my shitty little council house. So sorry it’s not as good as your fancy Miele but it’s all I’ve got.

Thank you @dementedpixie for your helpful answer to the actual question I asked.

Glad I commented OP Grin aren't you fortunate to have subsidised housing?! Not sure why it's relevant though Hmm

userxx · 07/02/2020 22:30

I was looking at the eco bubble but think I'll stick with another Beko, cheap as chips with loads of features.

BovrilonToast · 07/02/2020 22:38

I love my eco bubble. Had it for 6 years. I put about 60-80ml of powder in. It’s great.

80sMum · 07/02/2020 22:48

I've had a Samsung Ecobubble washing machine for 4 years and I love it! It's by far the best washer I've owned so far.
I usually use about 60ml of powder but I rarely have a full 9kg load. The times when it's full I use about 100ml.
Lidl's own brand powder (Formil) is the best!

saraclara · 07/02/2020 22:53

I have an ecobubble and so far it's been great. I use liquid detergent though.

And yes, ignore the 'buy a Miele' bunch. Jeeze, we're not all made of money.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 07/02/2020 22:57

I do find the cottons cycle too rough on clothing though and was getting a lot of little holes in cotton t-shirts. Am very annoyed about that and I've had to get rid of quite a few garments. Now I use the synthetics cycle for clothing and increase the spin speed to 1400.

I only use the cottons cycle for towels and bedding.

VivaLeBeaver · 07/02/2020 22:58

I love my eco bubble. Had it years with no problems. I use powder and probably use two thirds of the recommended powder amount, never had any left in the drawer.

I have found it doesn’t like the pods....not sure if I do something wrong but they end up only half dissolved and stuck under the door inside.

kaldefotter · 07/02/2020 23:01

I’ve had my eco bubble for years and I like it. I do only use 60ml or so of washing powder (I use a pink Vanish scoop, and it has a 60ml volume, I think).

DaffodilSunshine · 07/02/2020 23:02

Possibly a stupid question but have you removed the flap at the back of drawer as that should only be in place if you're using liquid. I use loads of powder when washing nappies in my eco bubble and never have an issue with it all dissolving

dementedpixie · 07/02/2020 23:06

I have a separate blue plastic dispenser to put in when using liquid, not a flap
