Good dishwasher tablets that aren't wrapped in plastic?

Does anyone know of some good dishwasher tablets that aren't wrapped in plastic?

I currently use Lidl's but am trying to cut down on my plastic usage. It really bugs me that they're individually wrapped in plastic when I've never even come across a broken one!

I started using Smol a couple of months ago. I am really impressed.

We use the splosh ones. The first set come in a tin and then refills in a cardboard box which fits through the letter box. They have a dissolvable skin which I presume isn’t plastic based as the company are very into reducing plastics. The tablets seem to work really well.

I switched to smol when splosh ran out earlier this year.

Both do a grand job.

Am I the only person in the world who snaps their dishwasher tabs in two? I live in a very soft water area and the dishwasher isn't that big. Even when fully loaded half a tablet does a good job.

Aren't the SMOL ones in a plasic container?

Fully recyclable packaging that comes through the letterbox. I transfer my monthly delivery to a large glass jar.

It's good that it's recyclable, but it's still plastic and I want to reduce rather than recycle - Waitrose dishwasher powder best option I've found, but you do need rinse aid with it which means ... more plastic.

I use ecoleaf from ethical superstore. They work a treat and come in a cardboard box.

Another vote for Smol. The plastic packaging uses as little as possible and can be recycled plus they are very good value compared to the premium brands

I think it might be that they’re horribly caustic and you’re not meant to touch them?

^ this. Dishwasher detergent is really serious stuff. I think I'd rather have the plastic if there are children or pets in the house.

If anyone sees powder in 5kg boxes please let me know! Best of both worlds for me.

Not a powder but Costco sell plstic tubs of 110 or something .

They're like a powder in a dissolvable film (they were demonstrating them ) and it's one plastic box rather than loads .
