number 1

or

number 2

or

number 1 but in cream

Would be having wood worktops and matching flooring I think?

Thoughts would be much appreciated!

number 1
but with granite worktops
black if white
dunno if cream

CountessDracula · 10/07/2007 17:36

(no 2 easier to keep clean tho)(

Alliebongo · 10/07/2007 17:37

no 1.
no.2 would be covered in little finger marks due to gloss

NAB3 · 10/07/2007 17:37

I think number 1 but in cream. Too much white for me.

NoodleStroodle · 10/07/2007 17:37

Number 2 - have something similiar.

The problem with No 1 is that dust and crud and stuff and fluff rest on the frame bit of the doors. We used to have No 1.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 10/07/2007 17:38

arghghgh this is the thing.

Your all pinpointing all of my various angst issues with both!

Number 1 - Im worried about the grooves

Number 2 - some people say easier to clean but some people say a nightmare because its gloss!

Definitely number 1 - in cream with wooden worktops and flooring, looks gorgeous. number 2 would look great until the kids got in there, you'd be forever polishing the fronts!
By the way, highly recommend the firm

Weasleybug · 10/07/2007 17:39

we had exactly like number 1 (cream and with wood work tops) in our old house - loved it except for the wood worktops which were awful to live with. Will probably have something similar in new house but granite not wood.

Kitchen buying is a NIGHTMARE

I had howdens round last week - waiting for design and quote

I have just now had another bloke ( a joiner who makes his own kitchens ) he slated howdens a bit and said the quality wasnt great.

He was talking about kitchen including fitting and appliances (new hob, oven and extractor and dishwasher) for £4000

What do you think?

OP posts:
PeckaRolloverAgain · 10/07/2007 17:41

The £4000 for kitchen and fitting is a "mates rate" he is good mates with my best friends husband.

My parents were told that that high gloss black granite scratches badly.

cece · 10/07/2007 17:43

Number 1 more of a classic. I had similar in old house and easy to live with. A quick wipe down now and again for the grooves.

Like the gloss one (number 2) in cream though - might it go out of fashion more quickly though

PeckaRolloverAgain · 10/07/2007 17:48

Yeah, I like the cream gloss but like you say I think its a bit too fashionably retro for it to last.

muppethasakitten · 10/07/2007 17:49

can you get no.2 in cream? would then look nice with dark walnut worktop.

Piffle · 10/07/2007 17:50

anything but high gloss esp with kids
I'd got for matt everytime
And anything but while, creams/buttery shades are excellent
Wood worktops take some care, but looked after do look fabulous.

shortcake · 10/07/2007 17:52

Definitely No.1 in cream - gorgeous! Too much white otherwise.

francagoestohollywood · 10/07/2007 17:53

I like n.2

PeckaRolloverAgain · 10/07/2007 21:58

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

My head will explode!

I think I;m leaning towards 1.

I like the white because my living room (that is right next to kitchen) is white, mocha and duck egg. I think I would like the continuation of the fresh white.

aloha · 10/07/2007 21:59

Number one is very nice.

ChippyMinton · 10/07/2007 22:01

No.1 in cream. I'd worry that the white would 'yellow' in time. Cream is a bit more forgiving.

saadia · 10/07/2007 22:03

They are both nice but I prefer No1.

Tinkjon · 11/07/2007 08:03

No.1. Yes the grooves would get dirty, but not as quickly as the gloss would show fingermarks, I think. So it's probably a case of cleaning the grooves on No.1 every month, but cleaning the greasy bits of No.2 every week, IFSWIM!

Piffle · 11/07/2007 09:41

pecka price sounds bloody good
do they do nationwide ?

Cappuccino · 11/07/2007 09:45

number 2 is my kitchen is from howdens

so I would say that one

no worry about fingermarks on gloss rubbing it with microfibre cloth takes 5 minutes (no matter how many times I point out to dh that it won't take him long ) once a week

Cappuccino · 11/07/2007 09:46

and my howdens kitchen is very good quality thank you
