I love mine.

PiggeryPorcombe · 30/07/2018 15:48

I love mine too. Best thing that ever happened to our flooring as I use it every day without it feeling like a chore.

bellsbuss · 30/07/2018 15:55

They are good but I find I can't do the whole house on one charge

I can easily do my whole house on one charge but it’s a small three bed.

NonaGrey · 30/07/2018 16:02

I’m considering one. Can anyone tell me how long they take to charge?

sexnotgender · 30/07/2018 16:03

I’m so tempted by one for our upstairs!

RainSim · 30/07/2018 16:04

You will not regret it. It's the best thing I have bought in the past few years!

delphguelph · 30/07/2018 16:06

OMG you won't regret it. We have one. Love it.

skunkatanka · 30/07/2018 16:08

I love mine (although we have the v10 animal one). The first time we used it we had to empty it 4 times it got so much up! Amazing!

ReevaDiva · 30/07/2018 16:10

I've never had a cordless, but the Dyson I did have was totally shit. Replaced him with a Henry!!

Gribbie · 30/07/2018 16:15

I LOVE mine. And I’m a housework dodger!

BaronessBlonde · 30/07/2018 16:23

Oh bugger! why did I click on this thread.
Get thee behind me, Satan.

I have been looking at one for about 12 months.
My mother has one (she's too frail to carry a dull size hoover up/down the stairs any longer). If my Mummy (early 80's) has one, then surely, surely I should have one, also?
I have a Dyson heater (fab thing of beauty).
All of which is leading me to the Dyson cordless.

But what do I want? There is a puzzling plethora of models and I can't see what the difference is between one and the next.
v7,8,9 or 10?
Any advice?

whattimeislove · 30/07/2018 16:35

Love ours. Easier to give a quick once over than if you have to lug and plug a heavy machine.

SqueakyBinders · 30/07/2018 16:41

I've been eyeing up the V10 but can't justify the cost.

It says on the Which website that you have to keep the button pressed down manually to make it work. I have quite a big house so I think it would annoy me. I want something I can just click on with one quick press.

40cmsanta · 30/07/2018 17:04

We love ours. Not sure which version it is, but we have had it for years, so it will be an old one.

We have a hairy beast if a dog, and the Dyson let's us keep on top of his mess with a daily once over.

So quick and simple, and takes up much less space than a standard vac.

40cmsanta · 30/07/2018 17:06

@Nonagrey about 30 minutes to charge I reckon. Definitely less than an hour!

vvviola · 30/07/2018 17:10

We have the V7 fluffy (extra attachment for hard floor plus able to handle my long hair that gets everywhere pet hair)

I love it. I stopped hoovering 11 years ago when I was pregnant with DD1, and DH took over. I hate hoovering. But I will actually pick this up and give it a quick run over the stairs or a room if they are looking grubby, and not need to wait until DH does the full Hoover.

Added bonus is that DD1 is able to manage it and quite delights in doing her own room....!

Theyhaveallbeenused2 · 30/07/2018 17:13

As thank goodness for these replies! Was an indulgent purchase for me never treat myself to nice things and always dreamed if a Dyson.. can't wait to get to the dustbunnies I can't usually reach

Changed my life Grin

5000KallaxHoles · 30/07/2018 20:22

Our V6 died and went to hoover heaven this week - to be fair it's had a hard life dealing with our old dog whose hobbies included knocking stuff over that would need hoovering up, and shedding triple the amount of fur he actually had on his body. Think it's a wire gone loose connecting the power for the motorised head to the actual head so going to pass it to my parents to see if they want to have a go at getting it fixed as I know my mum's wanting a hoover she can actually pick up and move around the house as she's getting older and frailer.

Just got a V10 absolute today but haven't had a chance to do more than wall mount the charging station as of yet.

I've found it changes the way you "do" hoovering to be honest - instead of having a proper "hoovering time" where you get the whole thing out, undo the wire and endure doing the whole house - you just tend to grab it and whizz a room, or I'll quite often do the stairs when I'm on the way up to the loo anyway.

Also v handy for disposing of spiders and cobwebs.

skunkatanka · 30/07/2018 21:22

I agree that you do it differently. It's so quick and easy you just do it in short bursts. I like the trigger thing with the v10- It makes switching it on/off dead easy. Honestly, I've nothing but praise for it.

OldSpeclkledHen · 31/07/2018 06:54

@SqueakyBinders the manual hold button sounds worse that it is ... it did concern me when I bought mine, but it works for me! Iyswim

Blankscreen · 31/07/2018 07:09

I've got one and it's amazing. The stairs are so easy. Cleaning the car is easy

I can't do the house in one charge but it doesn't matter. I do downstairs re charge it and then take it upstairs when convenient.

I hardly use the big Dyson amymore

anotherangel2 · 31/07/2018 07:13

You will love it but you will also need a spray mop now.
