Life is way too short, No

JackieNo · 18/04/2007 19:11

God no. Not a chance. Dry flat, nothing else needed.

REIDmylips · 18/04/2007 19:11

nope!

stitch · 18/04/2007 19:11

ffs, what next?

Spidermama · 18/04/2007 19:12

He's having you on. It's not possible to iron a sheet unless you have a room with a big sheet ironing machine like in hotels.

DumbledoresGirl · 18/04/2007 19:12

Yes I do, although if I am changing the bed and don't have a sheet in the cupboard, then I will take one off the ironing pile and use it un-ironed. I don't have fitted sheets or duvets though - if I did, I probably wouldn't bother.

Devonshire · 18/04/2007 19:14

i LOVE sleeping in ironed sheets, but as i am far too lazy to do it myself, the only time i get the chance is when we stay in a hotel.
(oh look, flying pigs..}

wheresthevalium · 18/04/2007 19:15

Ah, but he only has his DD every other weekend so apparently has time for it!

He is a bit of a neat freak, so I think he might have meant it aaargh

OP posts:
Hathor · 18/04/2007 19:16

Marry him!

DumbledoresGirl · 18/04/2007 19:16

I mean it. And I have a dh and four children to look after.

wheresthevalium · 18/04/2007 19:20

lol Hathor, may well do that, at least I could afford a cleaner then, and I would have time for trivialities like ironing sheets

OP posts:
wheresthevalium · 18/04/2007 19:22

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude DG, it's just that with no DH/DP, 2DDs, pt work pt uni at the moment I can't imagine ever having the time to do it

OP posts:
clairemow · 18/04/2007 19:23

no way, no way. try not to iron anything at all unless I really can't avoid it.

a man who irons his sheets... Never met one myself! Maybe I'm mixing in the wrong crowds??!

filthymindedvixen · 18/04/2007 19:24

Eye-ron? Ear-on? Eye-on??

Speak slowly.....

Nah, sorry, still don't understand that you're all talking about!

DumbledoresGirl · 18/04/2007 19:25

No worries, ironing is one of the things I don't mind doing - well, not as much as other things, and it has to be said that going to bed between ironed sheets is one of life's simple pleasures.

But I am not a neat freak by any means, or a clean freak either. My bathrooms regularly don't get cleaned for a month and the kitchen never gets done, and there isn't a clear surface in the house!

doggiesayswoof · 18/04/2007 19:26

No, but am a bad example because I don't iron anything.

Tinker · 18/04/2007 19:28

Never. But I iron virtually nothing.

moondog · 18/04/2007 19:30

I do.Nothing better than ironed bedclothes.
Sometimes send them out to be ironed as short of time these days.

Hathor · 18/04/2007 19:30

The iron here is only used for weddings and interviews.
Sheets - what's the point?

Glad it's not just me then

portonovo · 18/04/2007 19:58

Yes, I do. Gorgeous quality cotton sheets, freshly washed, dried outside and then ironed are of the real luxuries of life!

I actually think ironing sheets is therapeutic! Better than ironing shirts!

clairemow · 18/04/2007 20:12

portonovo, they do sound lovely, but still can't muster up the motivation... Now, if someone else were to do it for me, that's a different matter... Mind you, I can't say I've ever noticed whether sheets in hotels were ironed or not.

Pannacotta · 18/04/2007 21:35

I take mine to the nice lady at the local launderette who charges only £1 per item and they come back folded, crisp and clean looking.
Also makes it easier to make the beds I find...

MuffinMclay · 18/04/2007 21:44

Never. Life is far too short.
