Am sick of my rubbsih pans - i have to borrow my parents pan to make pancakes at the moment as mine is rubbish.

I remember COD saying tesco finest - any other good ones out there?

elasticbandstand - I was told Le Crueset were unsuitable for ceramic/induction/halogen because they are actually cast iron covered with enamel. But I may be wrong on this.....

I just checked and I'm sort of right, their enamel stuff is unsuitable, their stainless steel range is fine apparently.

Bugger me, aren't we a sad lot to be talking about pans at this time of night?

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:15

LittleEasterlapin - can't you just fling them in the sea on a bit of string?

fishie · 03/04/2007 22:16

noo don't put your anolons in dw. my littlest one is used every day for porridge/scrambled eggs and is starting to show its age but that is after 8 years. non stick frying pans are shit though, get good heavy metal ones and season them.

ChocolateSucksWithoutSugar · 03/04/2007 22:16

I love my SKK pans, but they are very expensive, and should be washed by hand.

jellybellynally · 03/04/2007 22:16

whats analon?

littleEasterlapin · 03/04/2007 22:16

It would have to be half a mile long, but that's actually not a bad idea... . I'm lobbying for a labrador puppy, they are basically just furry disdhwashers!

busy2busy · 03/04/2007 22:17

No putting the analon pans in the dishwash was a rubblish idea and utterly lazy. I've knackered them. (Insides OK though).

Now I hand wash because it scrubs the outside surface off.

I did buy one Jamie Oliver one (as much as I resented it) which said dishwasher save. And it is - it has the magic porridge cleaning function and looks OK after a hot blast.

I would find some dishwasher friendly analons. I will do quick google now.

PanicPants · 03/04/2007 22:17

But sadly not in stock

ChocolateSucksWithoutSugar · 03/04/2007 22:19

These are mine - the originals rather than the light, but the light are meant to be just as good, but, errr, lighter .

busy2busy · 03/04/2007 22:22

I would get something like this again Jamie Oliver

these

not as nice shape as my meyer ones - but shove them in the dishwasher wins for me.

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:32

I also like Meyer ones.

littleEasterlapin - FFS a dog is for life, not just for dishlicking!

Perhaps you could get a tank of piranhas and go on Atkins. Just dip and hurrah, clean plates?

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:33

busy2busy - they are only worth £130 if you genuinely have licence to smack Jamie Oliver with them if you see him in the street

littleEasterlapin · 03/04/2007 22:34

tinkerbellhadpiles - I need that on a bumper sticker . Like the piranha idea, very blue sky, thinking outside the box etc...

busy2busy · 03/04/2007 22:37

I agree - Jamie doesn't need any more money!! Think dishwashers though

Aufish · 03/04/2007 22:40

We have the circulon pans and they are fantastic, they clean really well and that is by hand, not sure if they are dishwasher friendly or not. They have stood up to my cooking really well and it doesn't look like they have been ever used. Have tried other makes before but these get the thumbs up from me.

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:40

Busy2busy - no, dishwashers are no good, you can't smack Jamie Oliver with a dishwasher, you'd hurt your wrist.

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:41

Aufish, are they the ones with the red spot?

busy2busy · 03/04/2007 22:41

But you could drop the dishwasher on Jamie's head. Surely must be relatively effective?

ucm · 03/04/2007 22:44

I bought viners stainless steel pans which are meant to last 10 years. They have.

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:44

Not as satisfying as the 'twonk' sound you would get from a 12 inch frying pan I'm sure.

Also he'd probably blame poor school meals for the violence if it was a dishwasher, whereas a pan would merely stun him enough that we could reprogramme him to make free chocolate cake for all women.

PanicPants · 03/04/2007 22:46

lol at 'twonk'.

Definitly wouldn't get the twonk effect with asdas smart price set for £7.

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:48

PanicPants - more a disappointing 'bllungg' really.

busy2busy · 03/04/2007 22:48

nooo cheap pans most unsatisfying 'twonk' effect. You need quality and weight imo. Presume cast iron might be good

busy2busy · 03/04/2007 22:50

Agree the free chocolate cake might be an added bonus. Offset the cost of the pans?

PanicPants · 03/04/2007 22:54

But you'd need a LOT of chocolate cake. Too much of a good thing?
