... what saucepans do you recommend???

I lost custody of the Le Creuset set in the divorce - to be fair, they were wasted on me as I barely cook, but when I do, I would like a set of non tick and not too heavy. Any views?

Your thread title drew me in... Totally not boring.

TBF, I love my Le Crueset, use them almost every day.

I alternate between them and circulon - not sure if that's how you spell it. They are more lightweight and non stick. Only now showing their age after 15+ years hard service,

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 03/09/2017 20:38

Anything fully dishwashable Smile

Leavingonajet · 03/09/2017 20:44

I have a Le crueset set that are pretty lightweight, non stick, can dishwasher and have handles that don't heat up, I have had them a year and they are wearing well.

Snap8TheCat · 03/09/2017 20:46

Sainsbury's do a nice, more affordable version of le crueset.

Dollygirl2008 · 03/09/2017 20:54

Thanks for your suggestions - interesting that your creusets aren't too heavy - I might have to look into those. I do rather like the copper ones in sainsburys but I can't do scrubbing!!!!!

I also lost le creuset also wasted on me. Mine were stainless steel. They marked within a month. Le creuset said we used too high a heat on them.

I now have a mix of jml stone lined pans (amazing) and Asda stone lined pans. (Working well so far after 12 months)

Purpleball · 03/09/2017 20:59

Anodised Raymond Blanc ones from Debenhams. Much easier, lighter and bigger than le creuset ones

NannyR · 03/09/2017 21:03

I have Ikea 365 stainless steel saucepans, cheap but practically indestructible and I don't need non stick for cooking pasta, veg, potatoes etc. I have circulon infinity frying pans (small and large) and a saute pan/wok which are more pricy but very good non stick and hard wearing.

Hassled · 03/09/2017 21:06

I have several of the Sainsbury's version of Le Creuset and agree that they are really good - I can't actually see what Le Creuset has that they don't.

Knope2020 · 03/09/2017 21:07

Ikea 365 here

sourpatchkid · 03/09/2017 21:11

I hate my le cruset pans. Far too heavy and bulky. Much prefer Sainsbury's

plantsitter · 03/09/2017 21:13

The Sainsbury's copper ones are brilliant. You can dishwasher them but they don't look good after. Xx

starfishmummy · 03/09/2017 21:22

Mix here of 20 plus year old le creuset and Sainsbury's "imitation" including one I got in a sale and is so big I can barely lift it when empty!! I do use it though.

bitemytoenails · 03/09/2017 21:23

my mum used to have clear brown pans that i thought were the height of sophistication. think they were called vision.

Will google them.

Ttbb · 03/09/2017 21:23

Le Cruest stuff is horrible anyway. Good riddance!

friskybivalves · 03/09/2017 21:25

Anolon ones in the dark browny copper colour. Sheer genius.

Hulashaker · 03/09/2017 21:28

Salter the grey ones but all are equally good. I find them excellent and they don't brake the bank either - plus Asda often have them in on sale too

RandomMess · 03/09/2017 21:36

Adonised non stick ones from Sainsbury's

Spam88 · 03/09/2017 21:43

We're a Tefal household.

Nydj · 03/09/2017 21:46

Meyer hard anodised - had my set for about fifteen years and love them and I think they make dishwasher safe versions now.

CotswoldStrife · 03/09/2017 21:49

I had those glass pans after I nearly set fire to enamel-coated ones for a bit.

I have the Lakeland stainless steel pans - lovely. OK in the dishwasher as well although I mostly wash them by hand (dishwasher gets them super-shiny though!)

OnMyShoulders · 03/09/2017 22:09

I really rate M&S for pots and pans. Ours have been worked hard and lasted for years.

PigeonPie · 03/09/2017 22:14

I replaced all my almost 25 year old Prestige pans at Christmas with Stellar stainless steel pans - they're beautiful, not too heavy, come in a great range of sizes including casseroles, and our lovely kitchen shop in Oxford - Boswells - sells them vastly reduced.

I think they will stand the test of time.

Dollygirl2008 · 03/09/2017 22:35

Interesting pigeon pie - I was in Boswell just yesterday and didn't think to have a look!

Go go go (and before John Lewis shuts them down Sad). There's almost a wall of them in the kitchen department in the basement.
