Tell me about it!

Where did you get it?

Do you love it?

What flooring/workbench do you have with it?

oh and also how much did it cost!

I thank you

My friend has a very nice cream one from, I think, MFI. Can't for the life of me recall what kind of worksurface. Having a mental block.

carol3 · 31/03/2007 22:02

have a white gloss one from mfi, just bought the doors and draw fronts so it only cost £150. Have paleish wood floor and white tops. I love it looks clean and modern, oh and have sexy pink on the walls

PeckaRolloverAgain · 31/03/2007 22:10

carol3, which range was it? Space?

god sorry have no idea it was about 2 yrs ago, But very high gloss and has crome handles

MrsDoolittle · 31/03/2007 22:18

The one I know is a very cottagey, shabby chic kitchen.

NannyL · 31/03/2007 22:40

where i work we have a cream (but matt) kitchen with solid black granite work tops.

dunno where it was from but was no doubt extreamly expensive!

NannyL · 31/03/2007 22:41

oh and they have wedgewoos blue tiles, whic id never have choses off the shelf but look really nice!

am thinking of stealing their colour scheme for my own kitchen actually

Milliways · 31/03/2007 22:42

We have white (matt) doors with granite worktops & black marble type floor tiles. It looks fab but WHITE cupboards with kids, cats & huge dog is a PITA.

joash · 31/03/2007 22:43

Love the look of these and have had 2 myself - but would never have them with little kiddies

Chandra · 31/03/2007 22:43

What price range you want? You can get a dead cheap one from Wickes or get one for the price of a house from a german manufacturer

Nice thing about a gloss one is that it reflects the light beautifully, down side is that fingerprints, spills, etc show up quite much too.

Pannacotta · 01/04/2007 15:10

We have creamy white matt painted cupboards and with only on child (and two cats) it is hard to keep clean.
Always seem to be tea bag drips or greasy paw prints showing.
I do love the white gloss ones but not sure how pratical they are (sorry to be sensible!)...

I have glossy white doors. Inherited from previus owners. Shows up drips and spills but think all colours do that anyway. It is very old so no idea where it is from. Our old house had cream shaker style from Magnet I think. With pine knobs. Will go for something similar here when we replace...

KTeePee · 02/04/2007 08:33

Wickes have a lovely cream gloss one at the moment - the Manhatten range

jasper · 23/01/2008 22:42

reviving this in the hope others will join in

maggiethecat · 28/01/2008 22:52

Ikea have a range (forget the name) - white or cream gloss. Looks nice with black granite worktop and oak flooring. with 2 LOs thought it would be nightmare to keep clean but hardly wipe yet they still look good - could be something to do with reflective surface.

LynetteScavo · 28/01/2008 22:58

NO, but I'm thinking of going for cream gloss. Tthe floor tiles are um beige (there is probably a propername like stone or something) with wooden work tops.

I wanted Aubergine doors, but DH won't let me.

Joash · 28/01/2008 23:00

high gloss - extremely difficult to keep looking good

kindersurprise · 28/01/2008 23:05

We have the Ikea one, inherited from previous tenants. Abstrakt, I think it is called.

It looks good, but you do see fingerprints. I am not bothered really but if you are extremely houseproud then you might want to reconsider.

My mum has a wooden kitchen with frames (if that is what you call them?) It is actually worse to keep clean with all the nooks and crannys. A smooth surface is easier to keep clean.

hatwoman · 28/01/2008 23:08

we have white glossy cupboards in the utility room - with white tiles, black surface and stone coloured tiles. looks lovely. but doesn;t get exposed to much in the way of grease and finger prints.

roben · 17/04/2009 11:04

I have a cream gloss kitchen with wooden work tops and an island unit which has a black gloss work top - just to be different. My current floor is wrecked and needs replaced i would really love to put down black gloss tiles, could anyone help me to decide if this would be a wise decision or not. I really love my kitchen and don't find the gloss kitchen hard to keep clean. I have 2 children aged 12 and 14 and believe me they can make as much mess as toddlers

Please help !!!

Ours sound like carol3's kitchen; White gloss cupboards and drawers, its actually easier to keep clean than our old White wooden one as the drips don't sit it the grain, easy wipe clean. We have mahogany worktop which suits it really well.

maqrollelgaviero · 17/04/2009 13:28

In our small kitchen we have off White gloss cupboards and drawers from Trade Depot with a solid beech worktop, slate effect vinyl floor and turquoise tiles. Walls and ceiling are painted in pure brilliant white, the blind is turquoise gingham on one side and multi colour stripes on the other and kettle and other bits and bobs are hot pink. It's cheerful and I love it, it's easily wipeable and as long as you oil the worktop and wipe up spills it's not difficult to look after.

I think it cost about £1800, Inc tiles and floor about 18mnths ago.

Salleroo · 17/04/2009 13:57

Cream gloss from MFI, with cherry surround, burnt red splashback (wall between base and top units to be specific), cream walls and dark wooden floors. Love, love, love it. It's not difficult to keep clean, a drop of cif on a cloth once a week and a quick rub. We have a black granite effect worktop.

Everyone comments on it, go for it, you'll love it.

Cant remember how much it cost but it was new everything at the time including sink, dishwasher, oven, hob and fridge.

Monty100 · 17/04/2009 16:30

Cream gloss kitchen from Howden's, brushed steel handles, white tiling, bare natural floor boards, teale walls.

I'm forever shining/cleaning it but I am pleased with it.

Timmyrocks · 18/04/2009 22:13

Try Moores kitchen. Love our white kitchen but a nightmare to keep clean.
