I am in the process of moving and dp and i are debating borrowing the most hideous amount of money - basically over 5 or 6 times earnings.

Anyone care to share ( feel free to name change!!) what horrors they owe?

Go on - make me feel better!

Ours is around £10k I think, as we've been here 15 years, but I can see us having to it increase it soon to help DS & DD get a foothold on the property ladder - can't see how else they're going to manage, especially with the student debts they'll be getting

BarryMumsnet · 14/01/2007 23:00

BarryMumsnet · 14/01/2007 23:08

I am on duty. I have a wireless connection in my cab. I will use my fat hairy fingers to delete any posts that offend my piggy eyes.

brimfull · 14/01/2007 23:10

piffling ,compared to others wrigglejiggle

Judy1234 · 14/01/2007 23:16

Like my post divorce £1.1m. Interest rates are so low though, people forget. I remember when they were 11%. It could all be hugely worse.

WriggleJiggle · 14/01/2007 23:24

Oooh, Menston and Ilkley ... I used to live near there. Glad to see ours is not the most, but its still far too high. Not going to work out the proportion of mortgage to property value in case it scares me. And as for how many times our (rather singular) salary

controlfreaky2 · 14/01/2007 23:32

People who are outside the South East: I have a question for you?

Do you ever think of the UK, say, conjure an image of the island up in your mind, and anyplace south of say, York, is just sort of like . . . Pluto?
