Sorry I expect this thread has been done loads of times but I have done an advanced search and couldn't find anything very useful.

I always said that once decent cordless hoovers were invented I'd be first in the queue to get one but oddly enough I haven't yet as people kept saying they weren't all that good. But I have decided that now is the time, but there are LOADS. I don't know where to start.

Any recommendations please?

Hello!

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. After weeks of trawling the Talk boards, talking to parents and researching bestsellers, here are our trusted reviews to help you find the best cordless vacuum cleaner on the market.

Hope this helps! Flowers

I think we represent the MN saddoes corner.

And proud of it. Grin

I have been considering a cordless one, but really didn't think they could perform as well as corded hoover - lookslike I was wrong

I was considering getting a handheld as my dyson is a monster. Although fantastic but a bit of a pain when doing the stairs etc. So last week I brought the dyson 58. It's bloody brilliant. I got it from tesco direct I would advise buying the wall mount as it doesn't come with it. Brilliant on the stairs, car. All hard to reach areas. Was slightly concerned about it having only 20 minutes usage but tbh I just use that time wisely and I haven't run out of charge yet. I too need a life .......

There is NOTHING WRONG with liking vacuum cleaners. On another site I frequent, there is a whole thread which turns on schisms such as Miele or Bosch for vacuum cleaners.

Just read this through as was thinking now I have a dog shedding all, over my laminate I need something! But confused between V6 and the Gtech which I was thinking of.

LizzieMacQueen · 18/05/2016 11:20

I have the dyson hand held but I don't like that you have to keep the 'on' button pressed down while you hoover.

I bought the AEG one after much deliberation. It swivels well, has a headlight and a docking station to charge it on.

No complaints so far....and excellent at picking up dog hairs.

Jungfraujoch · 18/05/2016 11:28

Thanks Lizzie - so now I have to consider AEG as well?! 😉😄

LizzieMacQueen · 18/05/2016 13:42

yep, and the AEG is made in the EU (yay, Europe!) unlike Dyson.....

I love my gtech air ram but if it's your only vacuum then you probably need the gtech multi too to get into tight spots. Charge lasts ages, so much so I'm often losing the charging lead!

I had a cordless Dyson animal and now have a Bosch Athlet and its a far superior vacuum , I'm a real saddo and have 5 indoor vacuums ( including cordless and handhelds) and DH has another 5/6 in the garage .

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 21/05/2016 12:12

Ive just popped to tesco for some veg and came back with a Dyson v6 animal. There was also a sign saying £50 giftcard when you buy any dyson. Turns out the offer was expired but they very kindly gave me a £50'giftcard.

Dh was like Hmm when I came back.

I'm sure there are tons of really good ones out there, but never ever buy anything from telemarketers, period.
