what do you clean your worktops with?

I didn't used to care about my worktops but I have a shiny new kitchen so a quick wipe with a wet sponge with a squirt of fairy on it doesn't seem fitting any more Grin.
I like things that smell lovely. What does everyone use?

We have shiny worktops.

Just have a spray bottle of water and washing up liquid. Quick spray, wipe and then dry with a micro fibre cloth as you go.
Brings them up lovely.

MediumBox · 19/11/2015 07:46

sponge and squirt of washing up liquid is perfectly adequate.

if in hard water area a vinegar spray helps get rid of lime scale.

goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 19/11/2015 07:51

I like the Method sprays. Currently using the clementine one. Lavender one is nice too.

gaggiagirl · 19/11/2015 21:22

Clementine! Ooh sounds festive. I may get some.
I'm glad what I'm doing is ok. We are in a soft water area if that makes a difference.

I have a water filter so soft water, limescale not an issue. Currently using Flash with bleach spray, then following with water to reduce the clinical smell. On corian worktop, which can take it. Paranoid about bugs from meat etc.
Usually use Dettol spray. Flash was on offer.

Zoflora diluted in a spray bottle. Just switched over to a Christmassy cinnamon one.

messystressy · 19/11/2015 21:35

Method grapefruit. You'll never use anything else again.

gaggiagirl · 19/11/2015 21:44

I've never seen method in shops before, is it available in supermarkets?
Love zoflora.

Jealous of shiny worktops. We have wood (not our choice) and I bloody hate it :(

gaggiagirl · 19/11/2015 21:53

misty wood is good! Ours is pretend wood but its shiny we also have scrubbed pine, I think it looks rustic.

Method multi surface. It's great. No streaks.

WingsClipped · 20/11/2015 09:32

Method grapefruit multi surface. Smells lovely.

WingsClipped · 20/11/2015 09:33

And yes you can get it in supermarkets- definitely in Ocado or Waitrose. They also sell it in John Lewis

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 20/11/2015 09:34

I use Method sprays as well.

Fairylea · 20/11/2015 09:39

I just use whatever is on offer at tesco! I also particularly like their 70p multi surface spray in the green bottle, it's Apple scented I think. It works really well.

Fabellini · 20/11/2015 09:39

I use this because it works great and smells gorgeous. Friends often remark on it, and I have converted several of them!
I use lots of the other Maison Belle products too and have found them all to be really good.

Sgtmajormummy · 20/11/2015 09:54

Diluted ammonia in a spray bottle. Great for getting rid of greasy streaks on tiles and glass hobs. I have laminate workfops.

zgaze · 20/11/2015 10:18

Another fan of method, the grapefruit one is lovely. I've got plain white quartz so everything shows up on it though nothing stains, for marks that don't come off with a spray and a wipe I use a bit of Barkeepers Friend.

gaggiagirl · 21/11/2015 01:41

Cant wait to go product shopping now! Think I'm going for method!

Zorflora here diluted in a spray bottle with a microfibre cloth. I use bluebell woods for the kitchen. I'm obsessed with Zorflora, have different scents for different rooms, living room and hallway is Cherry Blossom. Downstairs loo is Springtime. Bedrooms is Lavender and upstairs loo is Linen Fresh.

LOL. Just read that back I sound a bit crazy. Hmm

gaggiagirl · 21/11/2015 03:47

gene no you don't you sound perfect! Zoflora is amazing stuff. Still haven't tried the linen one.

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 21/11/2015 15:35

I use the citrus zoflora, if things need a scrub I break out the magic sponges.

Id like to try the cherry blossom zoflora, will have to look out for it.

gaggiagirl · 21/11/2015 15:48

Apple orchard one is a winner too.

bigbadbarry · 21/11/2015 15:49

Method here too.

Cloudyflower · 21/11/2015 15:51

I use dettol multi purpose spray, the green one and the pink one is nice.
