Hello, this thread is a little old and the links are out of date. Take a look at this handy page for a round up of Mumsnetters' favourite bed sheets.

Anything above a 600 thread count is good quality bedding.

The only problem is that it needs ironing, it looks a mess without ironing it.

wowfudge · 24/02/2015 20:41

We have easy care bedding from good brands like Sheridan - can be tumble dried and doesn't have to be ironed. I seriously hat ironing and would just hate having to iron bedding.

CountingThePennies · 24/02/2015 22:19

My bedding is sheridan and its screwed up when it comes out of the dryer.

I send it off to be ironed and they hate it when i bring it in as its such a pain.

wowfudge · 24/02/2015 22:26

I use a reduced spin in the washer for things I don't want to have to iron and for bulky stuff like king size bedding, I split the load in the tumble dryer.

Rascalls3 · 24/02/2015 23:18

Try Soak and Sleep. The quality tends to be superior to the White Company and the prices much cheaper. I have been delighted with all the bed linen I have bought from them, delivery is super speedy and customer service fantastic. Can't recommend them enough.

SunnySomer · 24/02/2015 23:22

Just googled Frette. £1630 for a king size duvet cover?????
There's luxury, and then there's ludicrous......

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 24/02/2015 23:25

Yup. 600 thread count +
We stick with 600 as you can just about get away with tumbling and no ironing.
I have a fitted sheet from Soak and Sleep (excellent prices, especially with sale codes), and a flat from JL which is even more lovely.

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/02/2015 23:29

Soak and Sleep do a 1000 threadcount range

Haven't tried it myself but their other stuff is excellent quality and value.

fizzycolagurlie · 25/02/2015 04:54

I usually pick something up in the sales - there's obviously less choice but my favorite bed sheet is some ridiculously high thread count and cost a fraction of its original price. And its lovely and smooth when it comes out of the dryer.

lurkingaround · 25/02/2015 18:05

You need to be careful with the very high thread counts. The threads can be thinner and so wear out faster, if you follow. I've had 600 and 1000 thread Sheridan sheets, they wore very badly.

I always buy in the sales. Good brands, and feel the quality.
I absolutely adore ironed sheets so I don't mind ironing them.

bugsyburge · 26/02/2015 00:32

thanks all.... i had a look at soak + sleep and have just stocked up....looking forward to delivery Smile
