if you don't use a toilet brush, what on earth do you clean loo with?

I hate toilet brushes (vom!) and my toddler loves them which creates new problems!
So. want to bin them forever BUT whether due to toilet design, human anatomy, diet, or something else, I can't see how I'd remove the regular (pardon the pun!) and unsightly 'occurrences' from the loo bowl. Toilet cleaner or bleach alone don't work. I need a brush or similar. Help! Thanks!

I just use bleach and it always works for me. wipe any 'deposits' above the water line off with toilet paper.

Squirt on any skid marks, put the lid down and leave to soak. By the time the next person uses the loo they're gone

Which bleach mouse and NotWithout? Thin, thick, either? Just bleach as opposed to loo cleaner?

Yep use bleach. Those toilet brushes are unhygienic IMO and the kids do seem to like them! Not good if they have bleach/poop on there

Same as mouselittle - wipe with toilet paper above the waterline, pour on thick bleach, close the lid. Toilet brushes are disgusting! Training DP to do the same is the hard part but it can be done.

Bleach is not a good cleaner. The reason it removes poop is because the high concentration chlorine breaks down the natural particles. Toilet cleaner is best for actually cleaning as it removes limescale and grime where bleach doesn't. Bleach is a good bacteria killer though.

I use both toilet cleaner and bleach. Wash above and below the waterline with loo cleaner, flush, and then squirt bleach around the bowl and leave for a while. I use a toilet brush but my mother uses disposable cloths and a pair of rubber gloves.

Disposable gloves and cloth, Harpic cleaner in black bottle. Also use Harpic tablets for removing limescale. Toilet brushes are disgusting.

I use a toilet brush but when the DC were small I decided it needed to live outside to avoid DC "experiments". I bring it in (in a plastic bag lined with newspaper to soak up any water when it is going out again) when cleaning the loo , clean the loo, pop it back in the bag and then take it outside again. Obviously the bag is changed every time and I make sure there are no holes in it!

I use a limescale cleaner when I am "cleaning" but a squirt of bleach as an immediate skidmark remedy. Loo cleaner followed by bleach sounds like a recipe for gassing yourself with toxic fumes - my loo cleaner and bleach shouldn't be mixed and a single flush might not adequately get rid of the first.

'Marks' above the water line are wiped with a bit of toilet paper.

Below the waterline I pour bleach down and flush, then a bit more bleach and leave.

I find a parazone bleach block in the cistern also helps. I bought mine a Wilkinson's but they do not last a month as claimed. More like two weeks at best.

I also use bloo toilet blocks. don't know if they help clean at all but they can hide marks below the water line until they dissolve naturally or you can bleach

I've got a Wunder brush , much more hygienic than a normal toilet brush .

I haven't heard of a wunder brush - what's the difference - very intrigued!

The parazone bleach block is similar to the bloo loo I think. Like mouselittle says, it hides any marks by creating lots of bubbles until they have been dissolved by the bleach.

Just been on the wunder brush website. It looks like a good option if you still want a brush but want one a lot less gross than a bristle brush!

What if you've got a septic tank? What then huh?

That's why I got it from QVC, I thought I could send it back if it was rubbish !

We've got a bio-digester so can't use bleach regularly. I buy cheap loo brushes and change often. Elbow grease, occasionally bleach and sometimes a denture tablet to get rid of stains.

Domestos always works for us.
Squirt on and leave. Couple of flushes usually works. If not then in the bathroom the shower hose will stretch to the loo and a quick blast of hot water works.

If not , after a couple of goes with it, then I'd use a disposable cloth (J cloth or sponge) and rubber gloves then throw both away afterwards.
