Although I'd love to, I can't justify the £725 for a fully integrated Miele dishwasher......so what other brand would you recommend please?

Bosch.

Look at the internal design carefully though - have a look at one in use if you can, e.g. at a friend's house.

Personally i would buy a Bosch second-hand if I had to (my kind mother gave us ours), as they are tough.

Bosch is next best imo and what we've gone for.

Samsung also.

MmeMorrible · 13/09/2014 20:10

Siemens are fab. Our firsts lasted 12 years without a day of trouble and our second is about 2 years old new, again perfect running every day and really everything cleans well.

SoonToBeSix · 13/09/2014 20:12

Bosch

DramaAlpaca · 13/09/2014 20:15

Another vote for Bosch.

ouryve · 13/09/2014 20:16

Bosch. Sturdy and functional. If you do happen to need their repairers, they're pretty good and come within days rather than weeks.

ouryve · 13/09/2014 20:17

And Siemens and Bosch are the same company, so you can go for them pretty much interchangeably. Neff, too, if they do dishwashers.

nevergoogle · 13/09/2014 20:18

yes sorry i meant siemens not samsung, couldn't be arsed to get up and look at the name on ours. they are the same as bosch.

My whirlpool one is 10 years old, has moved house twice and never had a problem

ilovepowerhoop · 13/09/2014 20:19

we have a bosch logixx and it is v good

HamAndPlaques · 13/09/2014 20:27

YY to Bosch

thenightsky · 13/09/2014 20:29

another vote for Bosch. 8 years and good as new.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 13/09/2014 20:33

Bosch. We're on our second and it even worked after spending two years languishing in the garage. Our whirlpool broke down within 3y.

Our last one was a logixx and it was great but we've gone for a cheaper one this time. Functionally it's fine but the racking system was much better in our previous logixx - basically more versatile and we could move the cutlery basket. Some of the top of the range ones have a separate drawer for cutlery Envy

holbea · 13/09/2014 20:36

Almost a unanimous vote for Bosch....thanks everyone - will now research theirs!

my logixx has the cutlery tray at the top instead of a basket in the bottom rack

EssexMummy123 · 13/09/2014 20:46

Integrated Bosch here :-)

joanofarchitrave · 13/09/2014 20:51

Ours has a cutlery tray. I preferred the basket which is why I said look carefully at the layout. I suppose it does clean better overall.

RaisingSteam · 13/09/2014 20:59

None of our Bosch appliances has ever let us down, we have the fridge, dishwasher and washing machine so far. We've got an integrated DW from the Exxcel range but it doesn't have the tray for cutlery. Is allegedly the most water saving one. German engineering wins out for me!

ajandjjmum · 13/09/2014 21:05

Probably don't want to hear this, but we 'invested' in a Miele - 12 years later it's still going strong with no problems (touch wood). At the time it was the only dishwasher we could find with a horizontal cutlery tray - which DH feels very strongly about! Grin

FestiveRoad · 14/09/2014 15:17

BOSCH Logixx SMS69L32GB £559 at Currys. It looked good and was the quietest (38dB).

Over the moon with it.

ilovepowerhoop · 14/09/2014 15:26

was just checking my old emails and our Bosch Logixx is nearly 5 years old and has had no issues (touch wood!).

LynetteScavo · 14/09/2014 15:27

Bosch.

Bosch are nightmarish for chucking plastics all over the place but otherwise wash really well. I use a lot of plastic pots so most people would be safe.

CleanLinesSharpEdges · 14/09/2014 15:30

Justify the Miele and go for it!

We had a Miele in our first house which we now rent out, and the dishwasher is still going strong 11 years later.
