I've got a Bosch and it's great (tho' very lightly used - only when can be shagged to walk the towels to the garage)

SaltyGoodness · 28/01/2014 17:34

No they are utter rubbish. They take forever and the clothes come out horribly stiff and wrinkled. They aren't a patch on the vented dryers. Really annoyed they're so efficient as the economic argument for them is strong.... but I hate them with a passion

FrantasticO · 28/01/2014 17:35

I love love love my Bosch condenser!

KatieScarlett2833 · 28/01/2014 17:38

Get one with a sensor. No more crispy clothes Smile

Pagwatch · 28/01/2014 17:38

Absolutely bloody brilliant.
Mine is fantastic. The clothes come out really soft. It's halved my ironing and its really efficient.
I love it. I would never want a different one again.

WipsGlitter · 28/01/2014 17:40

I have a zanussi one and its fine. My stuff is soft. Don't wrinkle if you get them out fast enough.

Theknacktoflying · 28/01/2014 17:43

I like mine - at least it doesn't need to have a pipe outside.

they do need to be defluffed after every load and water reservoir emptied.

IDismyname · 28/01/2014 17:44

I have one made by White Knight. Very reasonably priced, but no sensor thingy. My original White Knight was used every day for 9 years- hence I got another one!

wildstrawberryplace · 28/01/2014 17:45

Mine is fine. It has auto sensors so it stops when the clothes are dry (but gives them a whirl every so often so they don't crease). We had ours plumbed in with the kit that came with it so we don't have to empty the water, it drains away into the sink waste.

The only thing is you have to clean the condenser unit every so often to stop the build up of fibres which is easy enough, just rinse it with the shower head.

However, in energy terms and lint disposal, if I had space for a vented machine I would get one, but our utility has no external walls.

MrsBennetsEldest · 28/01/2014 17:46

I have an AEG. Bloody brilliant. Soft clothes.

SaltyGoodness · 28/01/2014 17:54

gosh lots of fans of condensors, mine must have been an old one (plus I've had useless washer/dryers which are condensors).

For those who are fans - don't you find they take hours? You can't just throw a damp towel in for 5 mins to warm and dry it.

SwedishEdith · 28/01/2014 17:59

Only had mine a month but it's made so much difference already to doing the washing. Hanging out wet washing properly takes ages. Had to mess about with the settings for a while to get it just right. Do get annoyed at having to empty the reservoir; that is a shag. But, otherwise, it's great.

HauntedNoddyCar · 28/01/2014 17:59

I hated the one that was left in our house by previous owners. And it obviously had something wrong with it. Was v happy when I could go back to my venerable vented dryer.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 28/01/2014 18:00

Mine is really good. Doesn't take long and clothes dont wrinkle. Only thing is I find they smell a bit...condensed? They smell clean but not like clothes that have been hung to dry

LidlAngel · 28/01/2014 18:02

I had a cheapy Beko one and it was brilliant. I was gutted I had to sell it Sad

hazeyjane · 28/01/2014 18:03

Have a Bosch with a sensor, it is fantastic, quiet and quick, never iron.

morethanmama · 28/01/2014 18:38

John Lewis (so aeg) and it is brill. Takes longer than my old hot point vented but clothes come out really soft and it doesn't shrink them. The sensor is great and machine v v v energy efficient.

CattyBrown · 28/01/2014 18:41

I've got a sensor one by Hoover and it's brilliant. Clothes come out barely wrinkled.

MrsAMerrick · 28/01/2014 18:58

We have a John Lewis condensir, and its great. Really quick, clothes come oyt soft and dry but not over-dry. Wouldn't swap mine for anything.

PenguinDancer · 28/01/2014 19:37

Mine is awesome, I really love it! 70 minutes, not too bad on elec and lovely dry and super soft clothes. It's in the wee shed as I didn't have space in the house.

Methe · 28/01/2014 19:41

I've got a hotpoint one. It's alright! Huge drum, fairly quick, doesn't make things crispy.

The only downsize it's it is incredibly noisy which isn't much fun in an open plan house in winter. I don't know if they are all loud.

PrimalLass · 28/01/2014 19:52

I have a cheaply Indesit one. Was about £200. It is fabulous and dries a load in about 45 mins.

PrimalLass · 28/01/2014 19:53

I lie, it is Beko. I nearly bought the Indesit one.

Wineandchoccy · 28/01/2014 19:56

Mine arrived yesterday and I bloody love it!

It's a candy sensor from argos reduced to £199, towels are fluffy and don't smell.

My washing basket is empty for the 1st time in months Grin

blondiep14 · 28/01/2014 19:57

I love mine. It's a Zanussi and used daily. Coming up 6 years now.
