Squeal?

sorry, not helpful.

tillykins · 24/06/2006 22:32

depends how it got there

if you have a cat and it could have brought the mouse in, then I would get a trap if you don't think you can catch it

if you have no idea why its in your house, I would call the pest control people, there could be a nest of the little buggers

QueenBeety · 24/06/2006 22:35

no idea..no cat...horrid..differnt mice both nights!!!

oooh, blimey, different mice?

Definitely get a professional in, you could have a little nest of them or they could have a way in from the outside

I'd get it seen to sooner rather than later

Are you sure its mice, not a vole or something? Not that it makes much difference i suppose
Still, could be worse, could be a rat

QueenBeety · 24/06/2006 22:37

poisen? oh dear..is ther a more humane way?

OP posts:
QueenBeety · 24/06/2006 22:37

yes could be a vole..little creepy things NOT A RAT..phew..

OMG i would run a mile mice/rats are my fear, i would deffo call someone in & also as someone else has said they will eat through anything including wires!

Turquoise · 24/06/2006 22:38

Murder them - traps with chocolate or peanut butter. Keep all food in tupperware (my larder now looks like a scene from Abigail's party) and bore your children at length about not leaving crumbs abd leftovers lying around.
Am an old hand.

But if they're running across the room, rather than sneaking round the skirting boards, then that's taking the piss!

Could you borrow a cat? One would scare them off.

QueenBeety · 24/06/2006 22:40

yes, they are running and chatting as they go..

Turquoise · 24/06/2006 22:40

At this time of year it's food that's bringing them in.

tillykins · 24/06/2006 22:40

no there isn't a more humane way!!! Are you mad?
There are mice meandering around your house like they own the place, what are you waiting for? Get a little man in or get a cat!

hugeheadofhair · 24/06/2006 22:40

You can get humane traps, they are like a small cage, that will trap them when you put food in for them, theres no need to kill them.

Gingerbear · 24/06/2006 22:42

Get a compost bin. Ours moved out into the compost bin as soon as we started putting the old veg and teabags in.

threebob · 24/06/2006 22:55

You get your 12 year old to deal with it now he's so grown up he can stay up all night!

southeastastra · 24/06/2006 23:02

like waterfalls said, the humane trap is the best thing to use.

we had a mouse and after three nights trying to catch it, we bought a humane trap and put a shreddie in it.

the mouse was in it the next morning! we took it to a field and let it go.
