whre do you keep your bedding and towels? clean duvet covers?

we have masses, perhaps too much

for a start have a clear out,take to charity shops, animal rescue centre always need towels and linen.

sorry, meant to continue, store what you need but don't use in zip storage bags, can go under beds etc, just keep what you need for every day use in the airing cupboard, any thing that is tatty i use for rags and when they are finished if they are 'clean' i.e no chemicals etc on them provided they are 100% i put them in the compost bin, hope this helps.

we do keep them under our bed in toy boxes, just wondered if anyone had any brighter ideas, bar a huge chest of drawers.

Have shelving in bathroom that stores all towels...Ive 2 sets of bedding for both beds, one set in use, the 2nd set folded and stored in pillowcase to keep each set together then put un a drawer, takes up hardly any space at all.

How much is too much? I only have two as well Fergus.

I have a storage room tis a thing of beauty, with a dedicated linen cupboard (it's very hot here so bedsheets are changed 3 x a week)

Sets are all plain (White for my room) Cream for guest rooms and colours for children's rooms sheet and duvet covers (which we use as main covers are folded inside one of the pillow cases.

only use duvets for a couple of months a year (and then they're summer weight ) so they are stored there as well

Towels have a separate cupboard plus bathrooms have those hotel style (can't think of the word) wall racks but I don't use them as storage as it gets incredibly dusty (joys of city desert living)

I have a hugh chest of draws pillow cases in the top, then sheets on one draw and covers in the bottom - the other draw if for lovely knickers

In the hot press - I keep some stuff in those vacuum bags, eg. summer bedding and sleeping bags at the moment, they take up a lot less space.

I had a big clear out a few weeks ago and streamlined everything and then put full sets into vacuum storage bags, they then go in the ensuite shower which is never used!!

I found a massive blanket chest works best. I'm not very good at folding things though.

Also sort out what you won't use for a while and store it in a high cupboard or somewhere less accessible - right under the bed for example.

I recently had to move our chest to the living room, to make way for the cot, and it is now filled with baby toys etc so I am stuffing bedding down the end of the bed.

Towels are meant to go in airing cbd but realistically it is tiny and stuffed, so the ones we use most get hung up on hooks in the bathroom to dry, then get used straight from there. Or left on the floor in a pile.

noisytoys - no spare bedding at all? How do you cope with poorly DCs throwing up at 2am?!?

ours currently is in a box inside our windowseat in the bay window, however in the next few months thats going to have to go as we've nowhere else we could put a desk once DC2 arrives and DH's office becomes the baby's room, not sure what I'm going to do with it all (no airing cupboard here).

It's never been an issue. The only time DD1 got ill she was in hospital. They aren't really sicky children

I have a laundry cupboard with 3 shelfs. Towels one shelf, bed sheets, cover, pillow cases on the 2nd and top shelf has old curtains, voiles and a spare duvet and summer duvet. The bottem of the laundry cupboard is boxes if books and Xmas decs.

No way could I only have one set per bed , even I spill my cup of tea on my duvet sometimes !

And deffinatley dont have enough hours in the day to wash dry and iron it them put it back on the bed.

Also when guests come I like them to have crisp clean sheets not ones that have been washed so many times the colours gone.

Noisytoys - you know you've just jinks it now and this weekend someone's going to throw up at an ungodly hour??

I have an armoire in the laundry room where I store cleaned and pressed bedding and clean towels. Additionally, DSs have space in their armoires to keep their own clean bedding.
