Any suggestions on how to remove? Sorry if this has been done before, my search wouldn't work.

Thanks

Bleach - rinse well afterwards.

zookeeper · 08/07/2012 22:20

steradent I think

EduStudent · 08/07/2012 22:21

Washing powder and boiling water. Comes off in seconds.

germyrabbit · 08/07/2012 22:22

wire wool

RightUpMyRue · 08/07/2012 22:23

A new scourer and elbow grease works for me.

DeeLinquent · 08/07/2012 22:25

Rinse mug with water pour a handful of cheap salt in then use your fingers to rub it all over. Works a treat and u don't get any lingering tastes/smells.

TimothyClaypoleLover · 08/07/2012 22:25

Soak in bleach then stick in the dishwasher to get rid of bleach. Mugs look just like new.

Swatchdog · 08/07/2012 22:27

Gin. Soak for a while and then drink dispose.

Moomoomie · 08/07/2012 22:30

Milton..... Which I suppose is a less harsh form of bleach.

Viviennemary · 08/07/2012 22:38

Good scrub with Cilit Bang and scourer. And then rinse rinse rinse. I know Cilit Bang gets a bad press sometimes but it doesn't half shift stains.

emsyj · 08/07/2012 22:41

A bit of washing powder, as someone upthread has said. No need to scrub.

And wash them properly in future, then they won't get stained! Wink

Wow. A whole list of suggestions. Thanks everyone, don't know which to start off with!

Milton. One of my colleagues uses this to clean the office mugs on a weekly basis.

TheDetective · 08/07/2012 22:47

I second Milton. It's what we use at work, and it works a treat!

Another vote for steredent denture cleaning tabs....

PoppadumPreach · 08/07/2012 22:52

It's often tea-stained limescale, so if you're in an area of hard water, then limescale remover.

tethersend · 08/07/2012 22:54

Coke. Leave it overnight.

DaisySteiner · 08/07/2012 22:57

Stainless steel wool. No need to scrub, comes off really easily.

NicholasTeakozy · 08/07/2012 23:15

Get a porcelain mug. Much easier to clean than stoneware.

Though you'd be hard pressed to tell from my badly stained porcelain mug what I got from a charity shop. Said charity shop staff were amazed I was buying it to use, rather than try to make a profit on it. Mind you, it was only 50p.

EduStudent · 08/07/2012 23:34

Washing powder, WASHING POWDER!! Seriously, comes off by itself. Just a bit of bog standard Persil is all you need.

gnushoes · 08/07/2012 23:37

bleach solution. Then do the sink with it!

JsOtherHalf · 08/07/2012 23:40

Magic eraser sponges usually work.

Bossybritches22 · 08/07/2012 23:53

Cheapo bleach, same stuff as Milton -fill nearly to brin with water, add dollop of bleach. Leave overnight, throw down sink to freshen drains & quick rinse with boiling water before using.

NoComet · 09/07/2012 00:09

Bleach, we had to do this twice a year before the lab. Safety inspections. Nosey bugger used to have a go at for the state of the tea rooms too!

loopydoo · 09/07/2012 00:19

sodium bicarb + hot water and leave to soak for a bit. Wipes off easily.
