We've moved to a very hard water area and are constantly battling limescale buildup on the shower screen - any tips for getting rid of it?

I'm not keep on industrial type chemical - thoughI have been moved to use them on occasion out of despair.
But now I would suggest: wipe down with an e-cloth specifically for shower screens. Once a week use some white vinegar on it ( keep an old spray top bottle to help you do this)

I clean the seal with Ecover bathroom cleaner (to get rid of the soap scum), limescale remover and a toothbrush!

I am going to order a new one actually, they are about £11 and as far as a I am concerned that will be money well spent! and I will try and keep the new one cleaner!

Cheap, clear vinegar is the cheapest and best way to get rid of limescale. Just put it into a plant spray bottle, then apply to the glass and leave for up to half an hour and rinse/wash clean.

Vinegar, or lemon juice.
Sainsbury's do a really good limescale remover if it's really tough.

Limescale build up is the thing to tackle once you have cleaned the shower in any one of the ways mentioned above. Once thoroughly cleaned and dry, spray the glass with furniture polish and buff so the glass has protective surface - water won't stick to it and your cleaning efforts last a lot longer. Make sure you avoid getting the furniture spray polish on the shower floor as it will become dangerously slippery.
