Had a lovely afternoon at the playground, but we weren't back home until tea time - and the DDs still had homework to do (I'd hoped they would get it done at their piano lesson, as they each have time to do homework while the other has her lesson, but no) and I still had three beds to make. In the end, their bedtime was about an hour later than I'd have liked (and DH, who is rarely back particularly early, was helpfully home two hours later than normal). Am feeling rather frustrated by how little is left of the evening when the DC go to bed late; I've tidied up, had something to eat and now feel ready for bed!
So what have the other fledglings been up to today?
CheerfulYank took a break from the laundry to go to bed (I know how she feels).
Nettie was packing for Scotland and looking for make-up for her trip to Blackpool. As I?m also on the lookout for miracle make-up, I can only suggest a Kiss Me Quick hat worn at a jaunty angle will distract from a multitude of flaws and wrinkles (in my case, I hasten to add; I?m sure you have no flaws, Nettie ).
swan regaled up with a tale of a MN meet-up that went wrong thanks to a lack of iPhones. This, I feel, is a further reason why I need an iPhone ? I?m sure iPhones are indispensable for MN meet-ups in any city. She also avoided men and absorbed some Vitamin D before taking to her bed.
DWM found shining her sink to be a highly satisfying experience and rebelliously decided to do her own mission.
Lady was planning a trip to the park in the hope that it would tire out her DD.
Toffee had a well-deserved lie-in before resuming her care of a poorly DS. (When the DC had chickenpox, the chemist gave us calamine lotion combined with something else that is supposed to be more effective than calamine lotion on its own ? sorry, I know that?s not much help! It may be the same as the lotion that Lady mentioned.)
PA avoided posting a list and was also avoiding the cinema, and promised to return after a long walk.
Makingchanges kindly helped her FIL with his new phone before indulging in her passion for stationery. (My ILs also seem to regard me as some kind of phone guru, despite the fact that they have two teenage grandchildren living in the same house who are bound to be more technically minded than me ? but no, they always wait for us to visit if anything needs doing to their phone.)
WhoKnows is back from her camping weekend and getting ready for a busy week.
myhouse was celebrating the arrival of a charity bag that she had been avidly awaiting for a month.
bobbinogs has been wondering about her fellow FlyLady followers in terms of their devotion to the fat fairy. Well, I?ve been on this thread for just over a year now; I?d had two previous attempts at Flying but neither had lasted longer than a couple of months as I just wasn?t motivated enough to do it on my own. This thread has been great, though; everyone is very friendly, encouraging and supportive and I?m sure I would have given up on Flying yet again if it hadn?t been for the thread. As for the state of the house ? well, Flying has definitely made a difference (to my attitude as much as anything, as I no longer feel as overwhelmed as I used to) and I feel like I?m finally starting to get somewhere.
Blue has had a happy reunion with her DS and can once again see clearly through her car windscreen. (My parents were so at the state of my car when they came to visit that my dad gave it a thorough wash, declaring that it wasn?t safe to drive if you couldn?t see through the windscreen properly!)
scatty has been witness to the innocent joys of young love and is not looking forward to going back to work (I'm glad that Easter was late this year, as it's straight through until the summer holidays for us now).
And Linzer has been wishing she could write concise and witty round-ups and has decided she needs more practice.
