Despite the rain and DD2's overtiredness, had quite a nice day in the end - the DC's moods improved in the afternoon thank goodness, although there was still the usual amount of squabbling going on. Flying-wise, I've changed the sheets, spent 15 minutes decluttering in the kitchen (as I probably won't have time tomorrow) and laid out my (running) clothes for tomorrow - I need to fit in my first C25k run before my doctor's appointment at 9 am.
So what has everyone else been up to today?
Cinders was given a lemon tree for Mother?s Day (am I the only person to think of The Seekers? probably) and her DS promptly made lemonade for her.
scatty renewed her spirit with
and the papers (oh, I do miss Sunday papers), read in the garden
(it poured with rain here today) and made scones.
Toffee had a busy day ahead of her and decided that shutting doors is the way to go when you have visitors.
swan was missing half her potatoes and had a grumpy DH, although he did redeem himself somewhat by taking the DC to the park.
WhoKnows is getting back to normal after the arrival of bunk beds.
Makingchanges has been a cricket widow (grr to DHs who aren?t around at weekends) and was planning to have another go at yesterday?s list.
LiveLong had family fun at the farm, and then had an evening of ironing to look forward to.
Lady had a lovely birthday yesterday, with highlights including a boat trip, crazy golf, a food market and chocolate. Today she proudly watched her DD?s Rainbow parade before enjoying a picnic in the park and being serenaded by her family.
Blue enjoyed lunch with friends, has a broken monitor and is rain-free.
ellie had an understandable rant - also grr at DHs (and DC) who do nothing and expect us to clean and tidy up after them. Wine is definitely in order for her tonight. (Very strangely, I was so upset about the state of the house last night that I couldn't drink anything. I've made up for it tonight.
)
Hope everyone else has had a lovely Sunday.
Linzer exits stage right, warbling "Lemon tree, very pretty, ... but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat." (Not on a par with Camus, I know.)
