Welcome, come away in you?ll have had your Brew. This is the April Fledgling Flyers Thread.

Thanks to WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes who was champion at leading us through March.

We are trying to stick to the Flylady © Website and her baby steps and routines to help keep our houses out of C.H.A.O.S and ready for everyday, maybe the odd visitor or two.

Check her website out but don?t sign up for emails as they are likely to inspire but fill your inbox so full we might not see you till August. Grin

The principles are:

Babysteps (one at a time)
Babysteps and 15 minutes daily decluttering
Babysteps and daily missions.

This month I will be posting the links and leading you down the road to building a routine and keeping your house under control.

It is amazing what you can achieve in a simple babystep,15 minutes a day and a little Wink chat.

Morning all,

I have no excuse for not being productive today, as the DC will all be out this afternoon and then staying overnight with DS's best friend's mum (Friday Date Night here we come!). I just bumped into her at kindergarten and told her that she really doesn't have to have all three to stay and must say if it's too much (she's always offering to have them overnight, but has three LOs of her own), but she was adamant that it's no trouble and that they're the best behaved children she knows. If only they were the same at home; well-behaved is not an adjective I'd use to describe them!

Am feeling quite organised as I've now booked all three nights for our trip back to the UK in September (for the christening that I thought we wouldn't be able to go to). We'll be visiting Manchester and Chester too Makingchanges - Chester Zoo is on my list of possible things to do with the DC.

janey Am impressed by you going to Zumba twice. I really must make an effort to get more exercise, even if it just means walking more - DD1 asked this morning if I could walk to school to pick them up today.

Toffee Poor you; you must be exhausted. I can tell it's time to go to bed when I start feeling dizzy; it's very tempting to stay up and get as much done as possible, but I just have to tell myself that I'll be more productive in the morning. Good luck with your work today.

CheerfulYank My excuse for not getting any exercise is that I need to get on top of the housework etc. first. As far as procastination is concerned, in DS's words "I'm an expert at these things" (goodness knows where he gets these phrases from - if it's not from me, it's usually from CBeebies!), so well done for tackling both things at once.

Nettie Enjoy your coffee. Smile

funambulist Love the fact that a coffee break was on your DD's list! DD2 really enjoys clothes shopping too, unlike DD1, who is completely uninterested in clothes - I was unable to persuade her last weekend that she needs new shoes (her old ones still fit but are very scruffy), whereas DD2 is very proud of her new ones.

Well, I'm not going to be very productive this morning if I don't get off MN and on with my list (I need to catch up on my weekly tasks, which have been sadly neglected since the middle of the week).

Morning routine
Mission
15 min decluttering
Polish mirrors
Purge magazines
Clean out fridge
Menu planning
Write shopping list
Polish shoes
Clean out bag
File papers
Pay membership subs and PI insurance

That will do for this morning, I think; will be back later.

LinzerTorte · 08/04/2011 07:35

Have we got Easter smileys then, Nettie? I can't see any in my list. That reminds me, I should probably think of an Easter namechange.

Stillchuckingit · 08/04/2011 08:34

[Crouches in starting blocks]

Morning all!! So sorry - still not caught up with thread - but have read Nettie's wonderful round-up. You are all very busy and Flying high ...

Did I see MissJUlie back, further down thread? Great to see you!

And fab story about retrieval of missing necklace janey

Being an hour ahead over here, I now have precisely 4 hrs before work in which to do 9 hrs of chores (I worked 'em out last night on the notepad by our bed)

Heeeeellllppp!! Feeling a bit jaded but have my timer out...

Slept badly because left gps out in garden overnight by mistake so had one ear out for cats all night ! They are happy as larry this morning thankfully and tucked up in warm, fresh hay in outdoor hutch with a little rocket to nibble on (very expensive, guilt induced treat).

Happy Flying everyone!

NicwNacw · 08/04/2011 09:24

Morning - sorry rubbish day yesterday - working for most of it and running round (like something demented) for the couple of hours I had to myself!

Will do better today!
The plan is:
Phone up about job details
Sort wills
Clean downstairs loo and bathroom
Hoover/tidy downstairs
Cook dinner
Do exam coaching with friends DD
More washing - the end is in sight [grin

Nettie and the celts, yanks and english who are puzzled...
Nicw Nacw is a character in a Welsh book series about Sali Mali and her friends who live in a place called Pentre Bach. It's similar to the Biff, Chip and Kipper books in that it's the first books most Welsh children start reading with - I wanted to be Sali Mali or Jemeima Mop but they're already taken and Nicw Nacw sound a bit like my name in real life Wink.

NicwNacw · 08/04/2011 09:26

Oops "they are the first books" not it's Hmm

swanriver · 08/04/2011 09:34

linzer Envy one of my children is in great demand for sleepovers; alas, only the Scouts will take the sons....and then I spend most of my time worrying they will be cold wet unwashed and fall off cliffs...

This morning, dd managed to hurl ds2 against a radiator and he cut his head badly (they were fighting over a piece of toast Shock He just had some Nurofen and is sitting on sofa recovering. I think it was my turn to be calm and collected, dh came downstairs in his suit and tie saying OMG, why didn't you call me? and I said because I knew you would start getting in a complete state when you saw the blood..and then dd would be crying, ds2 would be crying [more] and the whole morning would be Confused
So had to cancel SIL, but I think as Grandma is over from Eire briefly, and visiting her this afternoon so not the end of the world. [on the other hand Grandma is too busy to visit us! This is the first I've heard of her re-appearing in UK!)

Toffee Your poor DH (sore feet are a misery)

I must focus.
Todo
washing up
put away clean laundry
try and think what is happening today, oh yes dtwins to party this afternoon, presents???
teachers' presents?
enjoy beautiful day

Nettie corsets Shock

Stillchuckingit · 08/04/2011 13:05

Despite best efforts, and getting a fair bit done, failed to meet deadline so they'll be a load more tidying/hoovering waiting for me when I get back from office unfortunately. On the positive side, work all caught up and ship shape so hopefully can get home early.

Ouch for your ds2 Swan what a stressful morning for you all. Hope everyone feeling a bit better now.

And ouch for your dh's foot Toffee. Toes and anything toenail related can be horribly painful. Hope you all manage to catch up on some r & r over the w/e, yourself included.

MakingChanges/Linzer¨I absolutely love Chester zoo, one of my all time favourite places to visit, especially in the spring when all the daffodils are out. Used to go there quite a lot at one time.

CheerfulYank am with you in spirit re: weight loss. Have tried without success (or much willpower it has to be said!!) to lose weight for the last 2 years or more - and started properly again recently. Have lost 1 kilo so far; only 9 to go!! Even 1 kilo is noticeable though. The real impetus for me this time is economic as I can't fit in to any of my nice 'slim' clothes ...plus hardly any clothes available over here if you are size 16/18 and tall ...

Glad you found your keys CBH

Waves to Nettie Janey Feetheart Ellie Myhouse Nicwnacw Cinders Scatty Blue PA and everyone else ...

Prob. won't be back on here until Monday so enjoy a lovely, sunny weekend everyone!!

CheerfulYank · 08/04/2011 13:53

Stillchuckingit · 08/04/2011 16:43

My reward will be half an hour or so staring lovingly at Monty's tools on the Beeb tonight ... Wink

Toffeefudgecake · 08/04/2011 16:45

Just finished my work and emailed it back - only to discover that the editor is away till next week and won't know anyway. Grr. Well, at least it's done.

Good afternoon holiday makers

Afternoon. I have been running errands in the sun in the hills. Very pleasant too. ds has had a minor reaction to the food yesterday. We are all suffering the side effects

Not much flying done but a fair few errands run, which is good. Might go out later, might not. In two minds atm. Although if I cba to get off my ass in the next 5 mins and get the training stuff in the wash it will definitely be a not going.

Thank you for the round up nettie Grin

Enjoy the sun and holidays depending on which you have. Have fabulous weekends!!!!

scattyspice · 08/04/2011 18:03

OMG I have just found the census in my kitchen hotspot Shock! I am going to sprint to the post box with it. Dh says we must not answer the door to anyone in case it is the inspectors coming to fine us!!!
