I must spend more time here! I have been kidnapped by Farmville and FB

Hello and I've missed you all

Nuttybear · 05/11/2010 13:04

Swan My Commerce teacher (a subject Iloved and a teacher I fancied said 'Nutty's homework was like doing an interesting crossword type quiz. As I couldn't spell, sometimes I would leave a gap (as my gran used to hate seeing crossings out!) with maybe the first letter. The plan was to go back with a dictionary. I never did! I also used to be a chatter box. Ha ha I now write reportz and talk for a living! Anyway how does a teacher know who is going to be a valued member. My best friend of 42 years must be the most valued member of my class!

Any tips on getting cat urine smell out of upholstery?

Hope you are all ok.

grouchyoscar · 05/11/2010 16:32

OverflowingMum · 06/11/2010 11:11

heloo all
Had rubbish week Sad
Childminder turned out to be awful, looong story (see thread on chilminders board!) but went for visit with ds yesterday and she was rubbish...just rang her to tell her, and she ranted on and on about how my son needed more rules, shouldnt need to go in a buggy at 2 1/2 and hadnt treated her (mental) nicely(had tried to hug her whilst mental dalmation was leaping all over him, barking and growling at him) Shock can't belive I even contemplated sending my kids to someone so awful...will be sticking with nursery...

Then had rubbish meeting with learning support assistant for dd3 yesterday - she was useles...told my dd wouldnt get a statement etc.... but hadnt even remembered what DD diagnosis was or any other details...sigh...

Have loads to do, but am feeling overwhelmed and am sitting in bed on laptop,DH has taken 4 youngest out to Activity club....

need to try and motivate myself but feeling VVVV fed up....

sometimes life is so hard...sigh...

DD1 bday next week so need to sort loads for that...

sigh...

OverflowingMum · 06/11/2010 11:12

rang her to tell her HE WOULDN@T BE GOING
hadn't treated her mental DOG nicely ....

OverflowingMum · 06/11/2010 11:14

oh and ballroom dancing was a disaster too! Full of v elderly folks with silver shoes who all looked like they'd take it V seriously so we sneaked out and went to the pub LOL

OFN bloody hell! My mate is having awful troub with childminders (just what she needs in her final degree year huh) You don't need a childminder with an agenda. Your council may be able to provide a list, or the local surestart

grouchyoscar · 06/11/2010 12:52

and a huge huggle to OFM

swanriver · 06/11/2010 16:29

OFM well at least you found out in time but very upsetting to have someone ranting at you - maybe she was fine with actual small children but as you say horrible to deal with. And the older children at least would have hated her. I hated people who weren't like my mum...and had a completely different world view/discipline etc.
the buggy comment sounds particularily outrageous, you at the very least know what it is to manage several children at once on a busy road.

persuaded children to do chores today, now on a mission to make them more helpful and muck in before it@s too late and they hit rebellious teen stage.

need to dash...

scattyspice · 06/11/2010 18:29

Hi all.

have been busy with multiple activities in Thurs and bonfire night last night.

Spent 3 hrs Xmas shopping this am, then met dh and dc in cafe.
Did massive toy (well junk) cull this aft and took dc and dh for walk out Smile.

have been totally stressy at work, I am finding it so hard not being the team leader anymore (am now actually 3rd in pecking order as part time). The 2 people above me have both been qualified about 1/2 the length of time I have. One of them was even a student under me, then a junior physio under me (I in fact taught her all she knows). Not only are they hopeless (in my opinion) but also rather patronising!! However I have no choice but to get on with it (as we need the money and the hours are good) and I need to try to behave better as I am starting to cause friction in the team (which only upsets people esp the lovely, kind assistants). So someone please give me a slap and tell me to grow up and get over myself!!

OFM childminder sounds crazy!

swanriver · 07/11/2010 09:40

Scatty oh dear that sounds v stressful, and upsetting if it's the patients they are hopeless with. Do you think your team leader is a bit nervous of you and is over doing it to show you she's in charge? She should be grateful for your input really. I think you o have to tread v. carefully but patients are clearly most important thing.

Slept far too long yesterday, now feeling pretty weird, sort of jet-lagged Confused and bleugh

very impressed by your Xmas shopping Scatty

scattyspice · 07/11/2010 10:14

Thanks swan yes I think she is nervous of me (and to be honest I haven't been helping I guess) i agree I need to tread carefully and allow more time. I am tending to scurry around behind the scenes to make sure neglected patients are getting attention.

Hopefully going for a walk today (antedote to all the shopping Smile).

OverflowingMum · 07/11/2010 17:00

evening all

I am feeling really quite fed up and down Sad
weekend has been wasted in endless catch up household tasks...meant to take dc swimming today, but didnt get round to it due to overwhelming chaos in house and now feeling so sad and guilty aas they love swimmingSad
Monday tomorrow so back to total chaos, and having to ship poor ds2 off to nursery when I just want to be here to play with him Sad
HAve nothing ready for dd's bday next weekend and dont know when I'm going to get it all done.
Washing absolutely everywhere and house a never ending tip and DH , me and all dc permenantly fed up and grumopy. Have had enough really Sad
Must go and try to snap myself out of pit of despair and be more positive ConfusedSad

swanriver · 07/11/2010 17:33

OFM if it wasn't for ds2 and financial necessity, do you think you are enjoying job? I just say that because it seems like you are very good at the new job, and you should give yourself a big positive pat for that, and not feel that you have failed everyone/yourself.

Could it be a week of instant meals, and throwing things in black bin liners until after th party? Plan something lovely to do with ds2 after school on Monday (I mean hearthside type of lovely)

Btw, the "weekend family" can be a grisly prospect at the best of times Hmm

You've had a really horrible week dealing with two nasty and stupid people and I'm not suprised it has taken it out of you.

P.S. I've failed to take my children swimmign too Blush

on a good note, dd has finally made friends with the neighbour's daughter, and they are doing dressing up, with straw (raffia) everywhere - I'm waiting for disaster to strike.
Dss started watching a film called Liar Liar, but dh said it was completely unsuitable, being all about breasts Shock They have reverted to much more appropriate Space Chimps.

I have done v. little, except washing and genteel supervision of play. Feeling bored/tense really and trying not to think about tomorrow's op for ds1

OverflowingMum · 07/11/2010 18:31

oh swan is tomorrow the op? Sending lots of positive vibes your way....
Not sure if I like the job Confused think I do like the content of the job mostly itself...but would have rather waited for ds to go to school nursery...so finding that all a bit stressful...and just really struggling with juggling everything...suppose I will gradually adjust...
will persevere...will definitely be a week for freezer meals....thanks filp we are going out for dd party...although she does now have a friend sleeping over on the Friday night (how did I get talked into that????)

I have realised I am soooo tired...every time I sit down I nearly fall asleep... doesnt help dd4 and ds2 were up half the night due to trauma of noisy scarey fireworksHmm
am planning a very early night...

Have cheered myself up by ordering new lamp for the lounge LOL

May need to do a spot more on-line shopping to relieve dismal mood Wink
