Where are y'all?

lol anyone?

SueBaroo · 04/06/2007 09:48

mornin'

I guess my problem is that I whirl round like a bleedin' dervish, and then when I have five minutes to sit down and chill out, I want to chat about different stuff.

Does that mean I'm not a proper HEder? Can I still join in? sob

This morning, I have been trying to wrestle the maths manipulatives from dd3 who wants to eat them. We've been practising pairs by sorting the non-ironing and finding socks (d'ya see what I'm doing there ?) And dd2 is now making herself a mobile phone using strips of paper, a paintbrush and spit.

I'm writing all this down so I can show it to the LA person if we ever see one

If Wii sports can be classed as excellent hand/eye co-ordination practise, then I've got 10 minutes to MN!

SueBaroo · 04/06/2007 10:12

Oh yes, and Dd3 has just been doing a science experiment to see how quickly you can empty a cup of orange squash over a cushion when you've still got the lid on. Ah, now she's playing dominoes. [rolling eyes emoticon]

HC, I think hand-eye coordination is vital, don't you?

Saturn74 · 04/06/2007 10:21

Time for science, I think.
Off to blow something up in the garden.
Wish me luck - this could be my last post!

SueBaroo · 04/06/2007 12:32

I've discovered that I've started saying 'Socialization' in a slightly robotic accent. Is this significant, do you think?

singingmum · 04/06/2007 12:39

Hi
My2 are getting a lesson in how to do nothing while you have flu in june.
Am not happy bunny right now and dc's are having to learn that sometimes you have to do the housework others can't

singingmum · 04/06/2007 12:44

Am so glad as love the newsletters and stuff

Hello, can I join you lot for a while? DS isn't in school at the moment. Haven't deregistered him (yet ) but it would be good to chat to you.

Saturn74 · 05/06/2007 11:20

Hi, Lynette.

admylin · 05/06/2007 11:25

I wish I could join you but we're in germany and it isn't allowed, dc have to attend school even if they don't do anything constructive or academic. I despair every day when I look through ds's bag and there's nothing new and no homework. I'm going to be semi home schooling next year as I'll be letting him skive the maximum I can get away with and do the work at home if I can find the curriculum.

LynetteScavo · 05/06/2007 12:43

admylin, I'm really sad for you not being able to home ed in Germany. I heard about the German girl who was taken from her family, as she had school phobia. At least they finish school earlier in the afternoon over there. I'm not doning to0 brilliantly on my first day of HE.(Obviously, or I wouldn't be on MN!)

SueBaroo · 05/06/2007 12:48

admylin, huge sympathy for you for me too. I realize how very, very lucky we are in the UK with the law being so chilled out about it all.

Yes I saw that girl on the news too. They had her in a hospital psychiatric ward for quite a while too poor girl. I can only hope the law changes, they are drastically trying to do atleast something about their education system but unfortunately in doing so are experimenting with loads of different systems and ways of teaching and playing about with our kids really. Half the teachers are fed up and frustrated and the other half can't be bothered as their jobs are safe anyway.
Enjoy your home schooling anyway, I'm living in hope that we move to USA or UK then it doesn't bother me what the schools are like.

sorkycake · 05/06/2007 15:01

fillyjonk have you got anywhere with your alternative hesfes in the hills of Wales?
and just generally, how long can you study Pirates before it becomes obsessive?
If I have to wear an eye patch and speak pirate-ease for one more day, I swear......mind you it definitely brings out the creative me.

SueBaroo · 05/06/2007 15:04

Is this the same case where the proof that the girl was not 'normal' was because she respected and loved her father? That was wierd.

sorkycake · 05/06/2007 15:10

Congratulations Lynette, well done!
Can I ask who is havin' babies?

LynetteScavo · 05/06/2007 16:07

Sorkycake, don't congratulate me,I'm a fake. DS is still registered at school. I can't see him going in for the rest of the term though, so thought I'd join you for a bit.

sorkycake · 05/06/2007 16:25

cngratulatins to fillyjonk!
'congratulations' to lynette, enjoy your time with him. It's the hardest decision I've had to make, yet the easiest once you've done it!!

fillyjonk · 05/06/2007 21:38

babies, yes, babies. well a giraffe would be BETTER but...you take what you get really, don't you?

I was just thinking this morning how quickly time passes now we HE.
When my dd was at school the days seemed to drag and i always felt like I was ruled by the clock.
