How much does a medium sized Magnet kitchen cost?

Looking for the average cost of a medium sized kitchen refit if you use Magnet (not galley or cubby kitchen, but not large open plan either). I’m sure how many units but a u-shaped kitchen in a medium sized space - and including installation.

I realise this changes a lot depending on discounts the fitter can get and where you are in the country - but just roughly?

There will be others who are more up to data, but we paid about £6000 in 2017. It was for a rental property, so decent mid range but nothing too fancy. This included white goods but didn’t include flooring. I’m sure prices will have gone up plenty since then.

Hmm also depends how much you can do yourself and if you need new appliances. I would go and cost it up in store. My guess? £14k

EveSix · 28/12/2025 18:13

SiL did hers for £13k this autumn.

Kwamitiki · 28/12/2025 18:14

Prices have gone up a lot in the past 5 years to so,bad very much depends on what kind of materials (wood v MDF? Laminate v quartz etc), whether there is a sale on, and whether you have their fitters.

Does that include fitting? I’ve not had single quote below £25k and that was for really shitty units (much cheaper than magnet). I am in London; maybe that’s the issue?

£10k ish for mid range excluding fitting when I got an estimate 2 years ago, similar size to what you described

Alwayswonderedwhy · 28/12/2025 18:24

Around £28000 for a 10x14ft a couple of years ago. That included flooring and appliances. Mid price units with quartz top.

TartanMammy · 28/12/2025 18:27

We have a U-shaped medium sized kitchen, fitted in 2023 it was around £14k. I would expect it would be nearer £17k today.

That was for a Howdens, mid range shaker style units, wood-style worktops (not real wood) and integrated appliances and laminate flooring. No electrics or plastering included.

No idea. We just redid our kitchen using DIY Kitchens (with quartz from al Murad) using a local, trusted fitter after getting some horrific quotes from Howdens, Wren, a local kitchen shop etc. DIY cost a lot less, and we got quartz worktops and wooden doors for a lot less than others were charging for laminate and MDF. Plus we enjoyed designing ourselves (though, even if you employed a designer, it still works out better value).

Outer London. L shaped medium sized kitchen. Quartz tops. Magnet units. LV floor. All Neff appliances. Quooker tap. £20k all in.

TammyOne · 28/12/2025 20:46

Mine was 5 k plus 3 k for fitting (my tradesmen) from Magnet trade last year. Always find a fitter with a trade account!

Itsforthebest · 28/12/2025 21:05

We were quoted last year at around £20,000. I can't remember the range but I know we were quoted for a quartz work surface / wall covering and it included a hob, double oven, freestanding fridge freezer and microwave. That was without fitting.

Ended up going with Ikea which was just over £16,000 with fitting (but didn't include the fridge freezer). The kitchen looks great but the installation was a massive hassle and I wouldn't want to use their fitters again.

Our Magnet kitchen and utility was 22k in July, no appliances, but included fitting and flooring. We're in the southwest.

Ours cost around £16k three years ago. This included a new oven, microwave, warming drawer and hob, and fitting.

Ineedanewsofa · 28/12/2025 21:23

We paid £11.5k in 2018, fitting was done by builders as part of reno so not sure how it broke out but probably at least £6k to fit. Quartz worktops weren’t included in that figure but appliances were.
Magnet were shit, delivered the wrong stuff multiple times and set back the completion of the work which cost us more money. The quality was also rubbish, would not touch them again!
Our utility room units from Howden’s were cheaper, everything was delivered on time, in full and were head and shoulders above quality wise.

RampantIvy · 28/12/2025 21:53

I am very pleased with our Magnet kitchen. It is the second one we have had.

It was the Wardley range, which is the 2nd most expensive they do, so you could certainly get it done cheaper. They also quoted us 18k for the Soho range. Our splashback was expensive, so you could shave 1k off if you went for a cheaper option. We had an 18k quote from Wickes, 20k from Howdens, and 25k from Wren, but it's likely you will be paying the London premium. I couldn't believe the cost when I started looking into it but our old kitchen was falling apart and we realised prices were likely to keep rising so it was now or never!

CarrieMoonbeams · 28/12/2025 23:58

@Octaviathethird that's lovely.

20/25k inc 2 ovens a dishwasher, fridge/freezer

Honestly don’t do it. Get a joiner….i don’t regret our layout but I regret magnet.

What do you regret? That’s a fairly good price. We’ve had quotes from joiners and they’re all way over £40k. We can’t afford that.
