Where can I purchase an enormous (40cm plus deep) indoor plant pot?

. Ideally ceramic but I’d take a nice looking plastic one at this point. I’ve looked everywhere but I can’t find one deeper than 30 cm (without paying £200!)

Watching with interest - the choice is tiny. This is one of the few I've found - comes in zinc and rust. Can bring myself to spend that much www.crocus.co.uk/product/_/aluminium-urb-pot-aged-zinc/classid.2000033937/

Try Elho, plastic but they look nice

b&q worth a look too

When you get very big it's sometimes better to look for other objects that can be used as plant pots.

So for example:
https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/knodd-bin-with-lid-grey-90315312/#content - 51cm deep, £19 and take off the lid.

https://www.dunelm.com/product/rope-olive-green-stripe-rush-laundry-basket-1000253409?defaultSkuId=30925903&laundrySize=Small
48cm deep, £35 but would need a plastic liner.

I picked up an old fashioned stoneware meal jar that I have a palm in that was only £30 at an vintage place and it looks great!

Tk Maxx/Homesense but you will probably need to wait until after Christmas as they are over run with Christmas tat at the moment.

Literally any garden centre anywhere. Just make sure you buy the saucer to go under it. Loads of choices.

I bought one from Amazon. They have various.

I also saw this but they only had the big enough one in dark grey and that colour isn’t for me

How bizarre! Im sitting here looking at 3 massive ones with indoor trees in my front room... loads more on the patio... sorry not helpful... theres 6 options deeper than 40cm at B&Q right now. You just need to search for outdoor, not indoor.

User1704512 · 02/12/2025 22:51

Home sense usually have a lot in. I’ve picked up a couple very heavy ones and never paid more than £30. Might be a bit over ran with Christmas stuff at the minute tho

PigletJohn · 02/12/2025 22:52

I have some urns outside the house by the front door. They are available in quite big sizes. Look in the outdoor garden section. There will be some on Ebay if you can't find a local supplier, this is not really gardening season.

Mine are plastic, stone versions are far too heavy. I painted mine with masonry paint that has weathered to a fake terracotta effect. I don't suppose you have time for that.

I'd add a strong tray on the floor to catch any water that escapes.

canklesmctacotits · 02/12/2025 23:03

IKEA has enormous ones every now and then.

Placeoftides · 02/12/2025 23:18

If you'll have the enormous palm already in it i have the perfect set up

Have you tried Hortology? You can filter by size, shape, material etc. Seem to have quite a few?

https://hortology.co.uk/collections/xl-indoor-planters

I used this website recently as they had a really specific pot in had in mind and I was a bit wary as I'd never heard of it but the quality was really good, ended up getting three more from there!
(I don't work for hortology, promise)

Hortology is great for both pots and plants but the large pots aren't cheap. Rebel plants also have nice pots from time to time.

piscofrisco · 03/12/2025 06:22

Thank you for all suggestions. I looked on Hortology and they had some lovely ones but the size I need was very spendy! I will try all other places suggested. B and Q have a rattan basket type one with a lining that might work, But what I really want is a big ceramic pot with a sort of integrated saucer thing underneath it (that isn’t £200!)I think it’s the wrong time of year for this really but my Monstera clearly thinks otherwise or else it likes our new house alot as I swear to god it’s grown a meter in a month, sprouted a big new leaf and is so big it’s now falling out of its pot. I might save money on buying a Christmas tree, trim it up instead, and buy it a new pot with the monies saved!

Try smaller nurseries. I can think of three local to me that have loads of pots. They are often on sale too.

Thisbastardcomputer · 03/12/2025 07:39

Sutton Manor Nurseries in Kent, l haven’t bought a planter but l know they have huge ones, l did buy an ancient olive tree and it was delivered to me and pallet trucked into my garden
