Does anyone have no actual colour scheme at all for their house?

I'm just wondering this because there is so much talk about different colours, colour accents, etc and we are moving house soon and I'm thinking just how bad would it be if I didn't worry what colours went with what, what's fashionable, and just stuck stuff together? I admit this is part laziness and part lack of money but I also like colour and don't even mind colour clashes within reason. Has anyone done this and feel it looks good?

I am not a fan of the matchy-matchy neutral houses that look like something out of a magazine. I'm in the process of redecorating every room in my new house. There's no scheme, I'm just picking things that I like. There is a lot of blue and yellow, because those are my favourite colours, but there are other colours too. It might look garish to some, but we will love it! Decorate to please yourself - you're the one that has to live there!

We have so many things on our walls, you can hardly see the paint! Everything is white or pale grey.

I'm not convinced by the phrase "genuinely good taste". It's completely subjective, whilst presenting itself as universal.

I do think there are 'rules' that are universal that don't vary from style to style. Things like using a disruptor colour or mixing a variety of textures and shapes or using symmetry are all 'rules' that work for all styles. So I can look at a room and maybe don't find things to my taste can still see that it is considered. E.g. I'm not a maximalist and couldn't live in a house with loads of colours everywhere but can look at a room like Sophie Robinson's sitting room (see pic) and see that it works even though I personally wouldn't buy a single item that she's put in there.

I've just moved into a Victorian house a few months ago that needs a lot of decorative work and we've not got a colour scheme! I love colour and this is my first house so although I'm slightly prone to second guessing my decision making I've tried to got with my gut even when it's the bold choice that makes me nervous.

So far we've got rich green living room walls, and have ordered a grey sofa and a gold sofa. Our middle room leading into the kitchen is a dusky earthy pink and the kitchen will be off white with blue cabinets. Our room is a greeny blue. We've not got to the other rooms yet!

Sometimes I worry that our house will look like a small child has decorated it with their box of crayons...

I'm relying on soft accessories and rugs to tie everything together and want it to feel warm and eclectic.

I love colour and every room in my house has its own style and colour scheme. I don't like everything to match.

I have an Instagram account - it's 'the house called the tower' with underscores between each word (I can't type them on here for some reason. You might like it as it's very colourful and it's not at all 'matchy' :)

We're doing my DD's bedroom at the moment.

I am LOVING it.. and she does too!

Not to everyone's taste I know, but when finished its going to be the colourful space she wants 🥰

@3orangekissesfromkazan that's very similar to my dd's room when she was that age - it's such good fun to do that I think. We had to strip wallpaper off and borrowed a steamer to do it so we got in a real mess and had such a laugh!

Our colours are blue, turquoise, orange and yellow. We use a combination of these in each room, eg the kitchen units are white, the island is blue and then we have used blue, white and orange for accessorises. In the lounge we have used the colours from a painting and they are blue, turquoise and yellow. Flooring and the sofa are neutral. We are about to have the hall and landing repainted and it will be white. I plan to paint a console table in one of our colours. I will then add a table lamp, runner etc in two of our colours eg turquoise and orange. It means that I can move throws, cushion covers, pottery, plant pots etc around into another room when I fancy a change.
