Looking for a pale pink colour for kitchen/dining room. Not a little child's bedroom colour if you know what I mean. A pale/dusky pink. Any ideas?

@Thumbcat

OP, yes I got Valspar premium emulsion colour matched to F&B. To my eye it was exactly the same as the F&B test pot that I'd painted on. I painted a piece of card with the test pot paint and they scanned that at the Valspar counter to match it. It was lovely paint too.
This is good to know thank you!

All of these super pale, pink near neutrals are hugely impacted upon by the quality of available light.

Pink in one space, grey in another, lilac in a third. That’s why they always need testing on board, in situ.

This isn’t helpful OP, but I’ve just come on here to post almost exactly the same thread.

I’m not going to derail your thread, but it sounds like we want almost exactly the same colour. A dusky grey pink, not a pinkish grey and not too dark. Everything I’ve found is either too dark, too grey, too orangey, too brown or too sickly!

IAmcuriousyellow · 08/02/2021 15:59

I’m looking for this holy grail too, and I really really wanted to love Cinder Rose. Tried it in a south facing room and it’s just a bit too purple/bruisey. We’ve ended up with Pink Ground but I’d still love to find this mythical paint colour I know is out there somewhere!

I've ordered a few samples so I'll let you see the colours or the ones I've found when I get them. Have you checked out Graham and Brown paints. I ordered Posy but too pink but they have a lovely selection.

I totally get what you mean. I'm hoping it exists!

I like the look of this one - Pink Sands

I painted my wardrobe peignoir and love it. With no light in the room it can look lavender -grey, well lit it looks pinkish taupe. I like pink ground as well- I’m dreaming of using that colour for a DD one day.

I've just used antique plum by Homebase Blush but it might be a bit dark for you

This is a useful thread. Looking for similar.
Is it the colour of the moment do you think?

I'm starting to think that although I wasn't aware it was!

Might be too pale for you, but I have F&B Slipper Satin in our south-facing bedroom. It just looks like a creamy off-white in the morning, but from about lunchtime onwards it's a beautiful blush pink. It looks lovely against white woodwork.

I usually buy every tester that I think might be suitable, paint each one on to a sheet of A4 paper, then blu-tac that to the walls in various locations at different times of the day.

Thats a great idea rather than painting on the walls. Thanks for the tip! Ill check out that colour too!

We have Calamine in an east facing room and it's probably just a hint too dark / lilac compared to what I wanted. I have it with white wood

We have Pink Ground in an west facing room, together with cream wood. This is a softer, more subtle yet creamier pink which I prefer. It's modern emulsion finish and is durable but not shiny.

I know that others will disagree but colour matching just doesn't work for us and F&B paint, there is never quite the right pigment. It looks ok, but doesn't have the depth and warmth as the light changes (I know how pretentious that sounds, and apologise)

I think you're right. I've worked out the price for the F and B and will cost 180, we haven't decorated since we moved here 8 years ago and I've had a bit of money left to me recently so going to treat myself but I just want to get the right colour as I'm spending so much.

this is a v good colour

TankGirl97 · 08/02/2021 17:19

We had F&B Middleton Pink in our old dining room. It's lovely, not dusky though. It's a pale pink, would suit a Scandi style decor.

We have Pink Ground in our living room and I love it!

@Incyra thank you for the Graham and brown suggestion, I’ve been derailed from starting my own thread by looking at their paint colours. I like the look of bohemian and first date. Hard to know how the colour on my screen differs from reality so have ordered some samples.

I've had one sample from them and the texture is so lovely, goes on like butter milk, only way to describe but I picked 'Posy' and a bit too baby pink colour for me.

Just got my sample through of Peignoir and I LOVE it. But I'm not sure about every wall in it. I'm thinking maybe either a feature wall or 3 walls and then 2 with a neutral colour that compliments it?

Pinks I have used recently:
Dulux Blush in an east facing bathroom with large stone/beige tiles.

I tried F&.B Pink Ground in that space, and it looked like germolene. But I am currently using this colour in a cupboard, and it looks much fresher.

I am interested in Little Greene's China Clay Mid and Deep for a north facing room, will be trying them out for panelling and woodwork. I want something that looks like an Edwardian bohemian drawing room - a little bit shabby, posh, arty vibe. These are muddy pinks, I thinks.

I had high hopes of F&B Peignoir, but yeah, very lilac. I want something shading towards beige, so a bit more yellow, something warm, not grey or lilac.
