Help me decide on curtains before I lose the will to live

I can't trawl through anymore shops. We moved here 6 months ago and still have no curtains in the lounge.

I've had a specific idea in my head, but I can't find curtains or even just fabric like it. My friend actually has a pair similar to what's in my mind, but apparently they are Laura Ashley about 15 years ago. (See pic for swatch)

I'll attach some photos of lounge in the next post (MN seems to malfunction for me if I post a long post plus pictures) but there are two windows. We're in a farmhouse, so I don't like anything modern, but it's hard to find two sets of curtains the same when looking in charity shops for example.

I did think a lined linen curtain might be nice, or a neutral heavy velvet, but I don't love those ideas, they'll just 'do for now' if you see what I mean

What lovely curtains have you got?

Would something like this work? It's not quite so regular a pattern but it's a similar look.

What about an interlined linen curtain, - full length, with a roller blind or Roman blind in a colour/pattern.
Layering materials and patterns brings cosines and warmth.

Just those John Lewis ones would be perfect if there was just a smidgen less pattern. Don't worry, I'm rolling my eyes at myself too!!

sentia those curtains are absolutely gorgeous. I think I might order a swatch. They are more grey than I was looking at, but the bloody walls are grey so I've no idea why I've avoided that colour.

glorious I also really like that first picture.

porto blinds of any kind are not an option unfortunately, it is DP's only home decor stipulation other than 'not too many heart designs'! Considering he's let me do everything else as I please, I ought to let him have that one Wink

I quite like the Laura Ashley Pussy Willow and Willow Leaf patterns. I might order a swatch of those too.

Beautiful window, when was the house built?
Does it have to be floral?
What about a warm golden colour with some texture/pattern ?

Not to worry GIN, I am using this as a distraction from doing other things!
I know what it's like when you can visualise what you want but can't find it
Lovely rooms, I understand re not having shutters in there as it needs something warmer and more cozy
Some nice ideas here

I think early 1900s efe so not spectacularly old, but old enough to be a bit wibbly wobbly. It doesn't have to be floral, although I'm not hugely keen on other types of pattern - they could be plain though.

Thanks for the link just - just boiling the kettle to have a sit down and look through.

Oh that Peony and Sage one is beautiful. It might be a tad pink for poor old DP, but I'm not sure he'd even notice if I hung them up before he got home.

How about either of these fabrics

This one has more pattern but I think has a similar 'feel' to the one you like:

www.the-millshop-online.co.uk/ft-contract-use-curtain-fabric-petal-terracotta.html

A little bit different but the 'pops' of colour I think could work well with your colour scheme:

www.the-millshop-online.co.uk/clarke-clarke-fabric-titchwell-multi-f0787-curtains.html

They do samples and the fabric is generally good quality from the ones I've had.

That Peony and Sage website is going to be dangerous, I've just clicked on the Country Life fabrics. I want them all.

Oh I actually quite like that bird one blue which is a bit of a surprise. Nothing at all like I've looked at so far. I think DP would love that as well.
