Bizarre OCD?

OP posts:
wowfudge · 16/01/2015 19:08

There are lots of lovely original featured if you can see past all the books. Has anyone else that the main bathroom is in the attic? It's just a shower room off the kitchen otherwise. Someone didn't think that through.

wowfudge · 16/01/2015 19:09

Blimey - 'features' and a missing 'noticed'

Pancakeflipper · 16/01/2015 19:12

They shop at Costco don't they?

That's made me smile...

travailtotravel · 16/01/2015 19:16

I'd have that house any day - lovely big rooms. Need to do some work on the kitchen, but I get the feeling I wouldn't have to scrub out the bathroom!!

Notso · 16/01/2015 19:19

Do you think they've got enough mugs!

CrazyTights · 16/01/2015 19:19

I love that house, shame I don't like Crouch End though! The bathroom is so me.

GemmaTeller · 16/01/2015 19:56

wow, its on with so many estate agents!!!

ermmm......is someone hiding in the bed in this house?

Devora · 16/01/2015 20:09

Definitely, Gemma!

I like that first house but lordy, I thought I had too many books...

IssyStark · 16/01/2015 21:50

Reasonable number of books for a home, imho. And yes, looking at other EA photos, there are some well stocked book shelves in the bathroom (doesn't everyone have books which are just bath books?)

Kitchen also looks much, much better in all of the other EAs' pictures.

But by god, London's ridiculously expensive.

Devora · 16/01/2015 21:59

That is nothing compared to Hampstead prices. Look at this: £46m buys you a whole lotta ugly...

chickydoo · 16/01/2015 22:07

Indeed Devora, that is very Fugly. More money than taste.

douchbag · 16/01/2015 22:13

See I like features of that one

FishWithABicycle · 16/01/2015 22:21

I agree that the excessive cleaning product display is odd, but why the comments about the books? seems like a perfectly normal amount to me. I found it way weirder when househunting seeing houses with no books, or barely a shelf-full.

Blimey how many sitting areas in that mansion?

Hulababy · 17/01/2015 10:36

The house looks dark and cramped. And the bookshelves don't help - the whole place looks like an old dusty library and not at all cost and homely.
But then, even though all three of us here read daily, we still don't like to have books everywhere.
Me and dd have kindles and dh never re reads books so his are generally passed on as soon as they are read.
We have one bookcase in the living room with nonfiction or some classics and we have another in the study again mainly non fiction or study books.

I don't find piles of paperback novels overly attractive and it would out me off this house - there's too many to be artfully arranged and it just looks Cluttered

PixieChops · 17/01/2015 10:37

All I can think of is how long it would take me to clean the floors of that mansion! But I suppose if I had 46M I could probably afford a cleaner or 2. I think the house with all the books looks a bit cluttered. When selling a house you should make it look as if the other family could move on and imagine their stuff there. Obviously I spend too much time watching home improvement/ how to sell your home type programmes! Grin

Eastwickwitch · 17/01/2015 10:43

I thought the same about all that glass in the bathroom Pixie.
Suppose they could afford 2 Karcher window thingies..

PixieChops · 17/01/2015 11:07

Omg I absolutely hate cleaning glass! That would literally be torture for me having to polish all those mirrors. Plus why would you want to be able to look at yourself from all angles anyway naked? Suppose some folks are into that but I'm certainly am not! Can imagine my OH would love it though, vain bugger that he is, he'd also call me in so I could see him from all angles too GrinGrin

wowfudge · 17/01/2015 12:19

I had a look at the other agents' ads for the house with the well-stocked bathroom and they have had a tidy up in the link MrsM posted! In one of them it also looks as though the photographer has replaced the bottles of bleach with boxes of tissues in an attempt to make it look better! It's clearly been on the market a while.

PixieChops · 17/01/2015 20:23

Probably because nobody can see the bloody rooms for all the crap that's in there!

PrincessPilolevuofTONGA · 17/01/2015 21:39

That's a sex room isn't it? On the £46m place. The dark one with the 'bean bags'

FishWithABicycle · 17/01/2015 23:30

Nah it's just a home cinema. Photo 21 is showing it as seen from the screen end looking towards the couches, photo 9 shows the screen. All in the best possible taste I'm sure (and there've been some much more blatant items of sexual-facilitation-furniture on previous MN-Rightmove threads)

NetballHoop · 17/01/2015 23:35

The house looks nice enough, but I'd need more book space.

Seriously, I would. Blush

MintChocAddict · 17/01/2015 23:42

Gosh! That first house is BUSY!! No minimalism going on there then. Can't begin how long it would take to pack everything up. Shock
