Does anyone know what were popular prints/pictures on people's walls in the 1970s? We are buying a house built in the late 60s and furnishing it with a mix of 1960s/70s G Plan/Ercol stuff and some 'retro' but modern pieces. I've even bought my macrame pot holder

We have a massive world map which we'll hang in our living room but am a bit stuck as to what to hang in the dining area - what would have been typical of the period?

One of those pictures made by hammering nails onto a board (usually covered in hessian) with string/cotton sort of wound around the nails ?

My Mum used to grow everlasting flowers in the garden, pick and dry them and make pictures out of them. All shades of brown.

I remember seeing lots of these pictures around. I think they were prints from Athena which was poster shop .

Oh and this was a big favourite .

We had one of those string art things as well as a sunburst style mirror.

Sunburst mirror, awesome idea - and I've always really liked the Mucha prints, not so sure about tennis bum girl or Lowry.

Ahh she's lovely lessons. I've got Miss Wong by Tretchikoff in my living room and I love her, she's really calm and serene looking, I always say she's the funky version of the Mona Lisa. I really love 60's and 70's kitsch prints.

And Chinese Girl of course.

Wings of Love by Stephen Pearson is pretty iconic.

I have no idea what's happening in the swan pic but I bet it's got something to do with psychedelic drugs

And Pierrot for kid's bedrooms.

It's funny - I really didn't like the Pierrot at the time, and it's still definitely not my taste, but my feelings about it have mellowed a lot over time. Still not having one of the creepy things in the house though
