FREE - HOLIDAY IN LONDON (Aug 6-20) AT OUR HOUSE

It's that time of year again when we go on holiday to Italy and need someone to water the plants and feed the goldfish while we are gone. Last year two different lovely mumsnetter families came and stayed in our house while we were gone and had a great time.
We have a really nice large house which is, of course, child friendly. It's a no pet, non-smoking house.
All you have to do is water the plants every day and cover the cost of the cleaner once a week.
We're gone Aug 6 - 20.
Any takers?

OK Sofia - here's a massive hijack, perhaps deserving of it's own thread, but here goes....why are you moving back to the States? I seem to remember it was always part of your master plan. But, as an expat who is considering my own longterm future, am always interested to know how/why others make the decision to return "home".

SofiaAmes · 28/07/2005 14:59

I have always wanted to move back and always had the mental deadline of when my children reached school age. Now that my ds is due to start kindergarten in september and has spent the last year at an english state nursery (attached to local primary) I am even more sure that I want him to be educated in america. I think that his personality (as well as mine) is completely unsuited to the british system. (If my dd had been the child in question, I probably could have lasted another year.)

By the way, if you are considering ever moving back to the usa, make sure that you keep up on all the required vaccinations for the state and school system that you are moving back to. There are a lot of them and some of them need to be spaced out over time.

sofiaames, saw on droile's thread that you know the malluccis..lucky you! (met connor at alder hey earlier this yr, lovely man) x

SofiaAmes · 28/07/2005 15:22

Yes, I came to england for my last year of school when I was 17 and lived with the Mallucci's for that year. The sister is my age and I've stayed in touch mostly with her since then. I haven't actually seen conor in person since he was 15 or so. I guess he's probably changed a bit since then.
