Has anyone got a reservation password for these events? They are being held in London, Sheffield and Birmingham throughout July but to book tickets before they go on general release you need the password.

Ok guys - we're going on Sunday - what to expect? best bits to see? is there stuff to buy? is it expensive? do you get freebies?

I don't know who's more excited.........!

WigWamBam · 24/07/2005 21:09

We got a goodie bag with stickers, competitions, a Leap Frog cartridge, a balloon, and as we went round we got badges, hats and blowers, a Blue's Clues soft toy, a free disposable camera and all kinds of bits and pieces.

There's merchandise but it wasn't cheap - but you get so much in the goodie bag that the kids won't mind you not buying anything else.

There were a couple of food stalls but they were expensive (£4 for a sandwich or a jacket potato), and there wasn't a lot of room to sit down to eat.

mummyhill · 24/07/2005 21:38

Freebies in the bag were great. Balloons on the way round, wiggles flag, thomas tank engine badge, beach ball on the way out, disposable camera from sky car, missed the rest as most of the stuff had closed down due to the bad weather.

Am going to the regents park one tomorrow, hopefully we'll find somewhere to park. I'm quite excited

jane313 · 31/07/2005 18:39

It was a great day, lots of freebies and the staff were very friendly.

Had to laugh at annoying posh european couple in front of us who let both their children rip balloons off the entrance area so they could let them fly and made sort of vague oh don't do that dear noises, oh ok just one more. They didn't want to use their buggy park with their pricey pushchairs (one kid was at least 4 so not sure why he needed one) so then they rang the nanny up to come and collect the pushchairs (they could have only lived 2 mins walk away!)

trace2 · 31/07/2005 20:13

hee hee your posting made me laugh

trace2 · 31/07/2005 20:13

Jane 313 - we were in front of those people in the queue to get in and I told me husband in a loud voice that it was terribly annoying when people can't control their own childre. Unfortunately, they didn't hear!

All in all, it was a great day out. We live very close and had only planned to spend a couple of hours there, but actually were there from opening at 10am until I dragged ds1 away at 3pm. We only left at midday ish to get some lunch elsewhere in the park. He would have watched the live show all day long! The freebies were excellent except for the leap frog cartridge. I looked it up online when I got home and it seems the imagination desk that it is for is discontinued. SO even if I wanted to get one for it, I can't.

We all had a great day and I hope they do it again next year!

jane313 · 01/08/2005 10:53

thats funny being so close to another mumsnetter. I was tutting a lot too! Yes my son who is 32 and never sits still was transfixed by the live show. We only left cos he was getting ridiculoulsy tired. the playground opposite was really nice too. Thye had some tango thing on nearby in the pm too.

That interesting about the leapfrog thing, I was going to look it up today

coldtea · 01/08/2005 11:13

We were there at regents park yesterday .

Ds(5) & dd (2) had a fantastic day, we were there about 3 1/2 hours. I was so impressed with some of the face painting, the detail of the characters was amazing.

Still can't believe some of the freebies they came home with, esp the cameras. My Ds loved this.

I found myself walking around wondering who was a mumsnetter!

LunarSea · 01/08/2005 13:22

jane313 - I now have this mental image of you taking a 32 year old round an event for preschoolers! Sort of like that John Cleese high court judge advert.

jane313 · 01/08/2005 13:27

ha ha, my poor typing always gets the better of me, and to think I got RSA grade one (only a pass not the top grade) I think about that sketch a lot when I'm doing that slightly patronising child talk to my TWO year old

honeypot01 · 04/08/2005 12:32

We went to the Regents park one too, my ds is 3.5 and loved it! he loves Dora the Explorer so was totally stuck watching the shows!! Mty ds luckily has the leapfrog imagination desk, we got it from Amazon last year . We've played the games and he loved it. Didnt think was a good idea FOR THE GOODIE BAG thou as not every child is likely to have it! We got there at 10am too and left at 3pm

honeypot01 · 04/08/2005 12:37
