I posted a while back asking for advice about travelling around the world with our 2 small children - dd is 4y and ds is 19m. As usual MN came up with loads of useful advice. I'm not sure how do do a link but if anyone is interested do an archive search on my name in the travel section

Unfortunately I haven't been a very active MNer recently. As you can imagine things have been a bit busy here as we try to sort our lives out before we go.

Now I'm sitting typing with butterflies in my tummy. WE'RE GOING A WEEK ON MONDAY.

I finished work last weeek so have a few days to do stuff while the kids are at nursery. Today I'm trying to pack a 'capsule' wardrobe for all of us to cover beaches and mountains and hotels and camping and winter and summer - all to fit in 2 bags. OMG OMGOMGomg.....

I'm excited and terrified. Really shouldn't be on Mn at all - so much to do - but a few people mentioned that they would be watching the old thread so I thought I'd better update.

Don't know what else to say just now (head in a spin)so I'll pop back later if I can string a sentence together.

OMG OMG OMG OMG

wow - YOu have been places!!! Dd1 loved aussie zoo this last time we went in May this year.... I was madly doing all the makaton signs I knew for various animals looking like a looney mother... but she loved it.

Zillmere road - think I know where you are staying.. not far from where I live about a 10 minute drive south...

ohh enjoy merchant court hotel... they were doing up merchant court across the river... it will be fab by now... great places to eat. Make sure you take the kids on a bum boat - they will love it!! Again a firm favourite with dd1 - whilst dh and I tried not to breathe in the diesel fumes....

glad you are having a fab time.

We are planning something slightly similar for a couple of years time... a stop over on west coast US on our way back to London for visit and then stopover in Singapore on the way back.

Welcome to Singapore! Hope the hotel lives up to its expectations.
DH and I have loved the blog.
If you need any advice/help whilst here, do CAT me...
Agree that the children will love the bumboat, they also have the duckboat tour now which is also great fun, particularly when you launch into the river....

Nappybaglady, Welcome home!!

I've just finished reading the last 2 weeks of your blog and have to say I am very envious of your trip. Also must add that your dh has a great turn of phrase when he is writing!!

Sounds like you all had the experiance of a lifetime. Where will your next trip be to?

Hope you have all returned to normal bodyclocks. What fabulous memories to look back on.

nappybaglady · 09/08/2005 21:50

Thanks Polly, glad you liked yhe blog.

Next trip will be very short to somewhere very cheap.

Bodyclocks all reset to normal but was definitely a life-changing experience

Am tired out with work, sorting out school for dd, all the usual home stuff. But have a twinkle in my eye and a spring in my step

nbl?? are you thinking of getting your blog printed it would make a great book

nappybaglady · 10/08/2005 13:22

Loads of people have said that. DH is going to print and bind copies for the kids and us to keep but can't imagine it would have wider interest than that.
