I posted a while back asking for advice about travelling around the world with our 2 small children - dd is 4y and ds is 19m. As usual MN came up with loads of useful advice. I'm not sure how do do a link but if anyone is interested do an archive search on my name in the travel section

Unfortunately I haven't been a very active MNer recently. As you can imagine things have been a bit busy here as we try to sort our lives out before we go.

Now I'm sitting typing with butterflies in my tummy. WE'RE GOING A WEEK ON MONDAY.

I finished work last weeek so have a few days to do stuff while the kids are at nursery. Today I'm trying to pack a 'capsule' wardrobe for all of us to cover beaches and mountains and hotels and camping and winter and summer - all to fit in 2 bags. OMG OMGOMGomg.....

I'm excited and terrified. Really shouldn't be on Mn at all - so much to do - but a few people mentioned that they would be watching the old thread so I thought I'd better update.

Don't know what else to say just now (head in a spin)so I'll pop back later if I can string a sentence together.

OMG OMG OMG OMG

nappybaglady · 23/05/2005 22:23

We saw a bear and 2 moose on saturday. Today we sat by a mountain lake with our picnic and tonight we're cooking steaks over a log fire. Kids are filthy, exhausted and ecstatic

How exciting!Must tell you something pretty mad! We live in the far east of Turkey. This w/end,exploring a nearby live volcano, a bizarre vehicle appeared on the horizon and inched its way towards us. It was a broken down camper van, covered in flowers, being pulled by a tractor.
There was a family on board, mum, dad,a 5 year old girl and a dog.
They were on their way to.....Afghanistan!!!!

moondog · 23/05/2005 22:34

Austrians,not Turks!!!

nappybaglady · 23/05/2005 22:38

moondog - lol - that almost makes me feel like a sane and reasonable person

DEFFO BRILL to see your name on here again

Desperate Housewives is starting a complete rerun tonight on E4 {on friday on channel 4} so you may be able to see the missing ones when you get back

eidsvold · 19/07/2005 04:27

ohhh you are at the glasshouse mountains - look forward to reading you went to Australia Zoo to see Steve Irwin... croc hunter Almost in my neck of the woods... I live on the northside of Brisbane.

Have enjoyed reading your adventures and comments on Aus......

nappybaglady · 19/07/2005 10:18

hey Eidsvold, now I know where your name comes from - saw it on map. Went to Aus Zoo today. Had a great time. I'm a bit undecided about zoos - it"s a bit odd cooping the animals up. However we had a great day. The kids LOVED it. DD has been talking about kangaroos ever since and DS has learnt yet another new word - elephant.

now in campsite on Zillmere road in Brisbane. Heading into town tomorrow to explore. Get rid of the funbus on thursday. Fly to Singapore on fri where we will be staying in luxury (I hope) at the mn-recommended Merchant Court Hotel.

RTKM - I"ve avoided Desp HW but really need a repeat of the ER series.

time running out. I've just spent my chooccolate money on this internet session {grin}

Home soon.
