I have a problem to solve- calling all creative minds!!

We have recently acquired a caravan and are planning our first weeekend away in 2 weeks time.

The problem is I don't know where/how to sleep our 10mo dd.

There is a double bed at one end where dh and I will sleep. It is tiny and I can't co-sleep at the best of times so that's not an option.

At the other end there are 2 sets of bunk beds with a gap of about 2 feet between them. I am planning on sleeping my 2 and 4yo on each of the bottom bunks and would ideally like the beby to sleep in the middle but I need to contain her and make sure the other 2 don't fall on top of her! She can cruise and crawl so is very mobile.

Any bright ideas??

Husband on a bunk - you cosleep?? or you on a bunk?

Or can you get the baby asleep and then transfer her to a small matress on the floor? That way she has no where to fall.

Also just to get your perspective, DH and I have just had an argument about ds sleeping on the bunk. I think he is very likely to fall off it but dh thinks it would be fine.

He is 4.

is it far to the floor though - can you pad the landing?

i have a 4 yr old who occasionally sleeps in a top bunk
no mishaps so far

i think dh should sleep on a blow uyp bed on thefloor and you adn the baby cosleep

no they are going to be on the bottom bunks. no?

MrsLadybug- dh on bunk is option but I still won't sleep well and would rather sleep with dh!!!

I would do the mattress on the floor but still worried about the other dc's falling on top of her and/or her waking up and just crawling off!

whywoul d you e worried about a 4 yr old falling out of the bottom bunk????

let the 4 yr old sleep in the top bunk
2 yr old on one bottom bunk
10mth old in other bottom bunk with bed guards
or a travel cot in the lounge

there are 2 sets of bunks so I was going to put both older dc's on the 2 bottom bunks.

DH could sleep on a top bunk.

Or if you think a 4yo could sleep on the top bunk I could put dd2 on the other bottom bunk and rig up some sort of guard rail? But what?

NP- I know it's stupid but I'm just thinking that although it wouldn't normally happen it's bound to when there's a baby to fall on top of!!! You know, sod's law an all that.

is this going ot be your caravan and your caranvan alone? if so.........

dismantle one of the bunk beds and replace with a travle cot
you can store the bunk bd somewhere til the dcsare older

then put the 4 yr old ont he top bunk and the 2 yr old on the bottom bunk then hey presto

if you ar worried about the 4 yr old get an additional bedguard (argos)

is there no room for a travel cot?

or a travl cot beside you? does the lo need to be n the same bedroom as the other chidren?

A travel cot won't fit in anywhere! It is a small caravan with lots of beds!

I think the baby in the other bottom bunk is the best idea but what bed guards will fit?

dh is saying that you couldn't dismantle the bunk? I haven't got a clue about that kind of thing.

naily I've got that bed guard and it only fits a bed that is the width of a normal single bed as it has bars that go under the mattress.

I also have an ikea clip on rail but that only works if there are slats on the bed.

I know it says fits different mattress widths but it doesn't fit really narrow ones as I tried to use it on a cot bed and it wouldn't go narrow enough.

is one side of the bottom bunk agains tthe wall? so its just the other side you ahve to secure to stop baby flalling out of bed

put child in a babygro and staple it to the mattress
