Sunparks, De Haan, Belgium.

A flotilla holiday with these people Sadly we will never be able to do it again. I fantasise about it more than I fantasise about anything else - even sex with Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

basementbear · 10/03/2009 14:31

Although I never thought I'd say this before I had kids, the best holidays in terms of everyone getting a bit of what they want have been Centreparcs:

1 No airport hassles
2 Loads for kids to do
3 Creche / babysitting so you and DP get time to yourself
4 Brilliant indoor stuff including the pools so even when it rains there's plenty to keep everyone happy
5 Spa treatments (to coincide with kids' clubs!!)

Accommodation is great too

notyummy I am LOOOKING for YOU!!!!

Can you tell me all about le pianacce pretty please????

I want to go with DS1 (4) and DS2 (2) but am worried it's too steep.

Why is it so great?

Tell me before I have to stalk you round the board (have left another message for you somewhere!)

MrsMattie · 10/03/2009 16:41

Orlando last Easter.

Never thought I'd say it.

DS absolutely adored it, we ate well and cheaply and every day was action packed, fun and yet relaxing, too, because Ds was so happy and good natured as a result.

WetAugust · 10/03/2009 18:57

Cornwall - Bude

Bought the kids a bogie board and wet suit each and they spent the week body-boarding.

notyummy · 10/03/2009 21:38

Hi haventslept!

Ok, Le Pianacce is fairly steep, but perfectly manageable for dd (just 2 at the time we went). There is also a short cut from the top of the camp to the bottom that is not as steep, and took us 5 minutes on the way down and 10 on the way back up.

It is in a BEAUTIFUL setting. Everywhere you look are pine woods and a beautiful medieval hill town just up the hill (walking distance). The site restaurant is great...really friendly staff and lovely food. They do great take away pizza as well. The beach is 5 minutes in the car, or you could hire bikes and do it 10/15. There is a little theme park at the beacj as well, also set within pine woods. It only takes 50 minutes from Pisa airport if you are flying, so minimal hassle.

Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know.

NorbertDentressangle · 10/03/2009 21:46

Estoril, Portugal last year.

Stayed in an apartment we found on holidayrentals.co.uk -it was close to the beach, the town, public transport (so no need to hire a car). Perfect weather (not stupidly hot as the sea breeze kept it nice)

Beautiful area, half an hour from Lisbon by train.

Children were 8 and (just)4 and they still talk about it now and want to go back.

Fimbo · 11/03/2009 10:27

Thanks for all the further info.

The Thomson Alfresco places - is the accommodation ok?

Page 62, pine cliffs looks amazing but do you have to own a property to go there?

Kiwinyc · 11/03/2009 16:05

Skiing in Klosters, Xmas 08

mileniwmffalcon · 11/03/2009 16:16

big green gathering, somerset, august a few years back, 5 days of utter loveliness - great food, great people, great entertainment, real get away from it all experience. hoping to recreate it this year (everything crossed).

CrackerNut · 11/03/2009 16:16

Sanguli Resort Salou with Thomson Alfresco

It was absolutly fabulous and the kids loved it and have never stopped talking about it.

My mum has just paid for us all to go back in May

I found the accomodation to be nice, like a caravan you'd get here but alot nicer with a lovely big decked area.

Lovely beach opposite the site and good choice of places to eat.

MorocconOil · 11/03/2009 16:27

Hired a motorhome and toured Scotland. There were lots of interesting places to visit, bike rides, fossil walks, deserted beaches to play on. The DC loved it.

Fimbo · 11/03/2009 16:30

I have just looked at the other one - Villa Nova Parc, Nutty. Have found quite a good deal for Oct half term. Dh wants to do Barcelona and I think this would be quite ideal as he can can the culture and the dc can have their thing too.

I actually managed to find quite decent priced flights too through BA.

Either camping in France (Brittany, Vendee, Loire the best areas)

Or 5* hotel in Tunisia - sun, sand, no shopping, cooking, cleaning - pure relaxation
