Booked a cottage in Hythe for the weekend, any tips for me?

Asin Hythe, Kent? My h is from near there and his parents still live quite close by - we go to visit quite a lot. Am trying to think of things to do. Some nice country pubs, nice walks, Hythe not particularly stunning/interesting.

Hi sykes. My ds is going mental with excitement about riding on the little railway. Trains are his thing.

Can you name any of those pubs you mention? Are you going to visit this weekend by any chance? I'll buy you a white wine if so

Sorry no talas to hand , is it too far to go to Hastings ? Not been there in a long, long while but recall smugglers caves and castle. Also Dover is good to visit, but may be a bit further - lots of different phases of history from Romans to WW2. Also the Ashford Shopping Outlet, near the Eurostar station, if the kids would stand it !

Oh yes, I already decided to go to the shopping outlet! Never mind the kids, DH can take them on the train while I'm there

Sorry, been out. They'll love the railway - there's a fairly okayish little seaside place it goes to - I'll ask H when he's in. Oh, there's Saltwood castle, and also the Port Lympne wildlife thing - it is supposedly conservational. I hate zoos. No we're in Scotland staying with friends this w/end. Will ask H for more ideas as I've got a memory like a sieve. He's particularly good at pubs. There's good riding round there, I know that.

Rye is definitely worth a visit and I meant Dymchurch re the railway.

We can get into the cottage at 2 - I should be there before that. Poss in time to take kids for lunch first.

I only ask because I think me Dingle and harman are meeting up in margate, which is a way but maybe we could all meet up a bit more central seeing as it sjust us? or maybe that doesnt fit round everyone
