Going back might be easier.

lilibet · 08/04/2005 17:12

I was after Warringotn on the way back too!!

thedogmother · 08/04/2005 17:20

ooh could be a bit of a meet-up! Not the ideal place though.

Where are you lilibet? Quite near?

lilibet · 08/04/2005 17:41

I'm in Wigan but am very near the M6 so Warrington is 20 mins away - I got my wedding dress from Cottons!

And the parking is so much better than Wigan at the moment

bensmum3 · 08/04/2005 22:01

I will ring and find out our return times in the morning, as I only have the downward journey at the moment.

bensmum3 · 13/04/2005 19:47

Tortoishell and ds and I just met bensmum3 at Bristol and handed over fairy cakes, toy soldiers, a football annual, a Smash Hits magazine, some paper with origami instructions, assorted stickers and small toys. The Train was delayed by 45 minutes and horrendously crowded, I wouldn't have wanted to be her for ANYTHING, it looked like hell with people standing in the corridors and doorways. We nearly didn't manage to hand over because it was so packed and there was no way we could get on the train to find them. But then they came to the door and I dropped toy soliders all over the platform but we got there in the end! Poor woman, I really hope it wasn't as hideous as it looked, the rush hour traffic outside was a walk in the park by comparison. They gave us a little bag with sweets and pencils and a mumsnet yellow flag which has been shared with my ds and Tortoiseshell's ds and dd Good idea Cod!

gingerbear · 19/04/2005 16:59

Bensmum3 hello??
Hope you arrived and got back in one piece?

ponygirl · 20/04/2005 09:11

Hi Bensmum3 - so sorry, I can't make Exeter today - minor kitchen renovations crisis! Aaargh! Hope you had a geat time, the journeys weren't too horrendous and you met lots of lovely mumsnetters on the way and way back.

bensmum3 · 21/04/2005 21:45

Hi All !
We are all back in one piece, and would like to say huge Thankyou's to Miaou's dh who met us in Fort William, Aimsmum who met us in Glasgow, escorted us to the other station (which was wonderful) and gave the children lots of lovely goodies as well as lending her gameboy, and has a gorgeous dd with the same name as mine. Chattee from Carlisle who has a very patient ds, sorry to miss dd on return journey, and thankyou for the goodies, and to Tortoiseshell and wicked waterwitch, Thankyou for waiting for the delayed train, and the lovely cakes and assortment of gifts,We felt very sad we couldn't say hello and thankyou properly !.We picked up a black belt with the soldiers, was it one of yours ?
Thankyou also to cod for starting the thread, it made the journey very exciting !
Overall the journeys went very well, except ds2 decided he was going to start potty training on the train ! After our brief encounter in Bristol, we fought our way back to our seats, excusing and apologising until we got to the seats half way down the carriage ,then ds2 announced at full volume "need poo mummy, need poo! "

Glad you made it there and back - your train looked hideously busy - I wouldn't have been you for anything! Anyway, it was fun meeting you, albeit briefly!

Miaou · 21/04/2005 22:00
