Eurodisney- Where to book for best deal? Hotel reccomendation & eurostar

We are hoping to go to eurodisney around Sept 9th/10th for 5 nights. I have got some prices from the disney website but was wondering if it would be cheaper to look else where for prices? Also, would it pay to wait and book a bit closer to the time?

Also which hotel would you recommend? I have been looking at the Vienna Dream Castle- it is rated 4 star, the same as the DisneyLand hotel but less than half the price as it is not on site. Has anyone stayed there? Or would we be better at a slightly cheaper hotel on site- not too keen on the look of the Santa Fe or Cheyenne.

Lastly eurostar- is it better to book as a package or separately? The price for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant is around £600 on the disney site- this sounds a lot to me.
TIA for any advice or recommendations

I wouldn't have said there was enough to do at ED for 5 nights but may be that was just us! That being the case, I'd may be look for somewhere on the train line towards Paris (which is about an hour away). It's been 5 years since we've been so really can't remember much about it.

I know loads of people here have been so they'll be able to advise you more. Try looking at the eurostar website direct as you might get a better deal there.

Also have a look at www.tripadvisor.co.uk for EuroDisney as you will get lots of tips and help there.

Have a great time whatever you plan.

Thanks Woodmill, I'll have a look at tripadvisor. If 5 nights is too long I might look into doing 3 nights then travelling to another part of France for a couple of days. So many choices!

I am going on the 22nd september till 25th sept (4 days/3nights) we are staying at santa fe though (one because its cheap and two because friends have been there and said it was fine) the whole hotel/park tickets etc was £392 through a travel agents (one anothe rmumsnetter works at so did it over the phone)

I booked eurostar directly we are going from ashford direct to disney but there is no option on train times so we leave at 9.30am and get to disney at 12.30 (2 hours on train 1 hour time diff) and returning only train is 7.30pm so back in ashford 8.30pm UK time (but we are taking buggies so if the dd;s fall asleep we can wheel them to the car) that cost £180, we could have had the option to choose train times but it meant stopping at Lille and then getting a connecting train (friends did this and said it was a nightmare) and now we're quite pleased we coming home in the evening as the hotel will keep our luggae all day so we have the last day in the park, then have dinner, collect luggage and jump on train (straight outside disney ) you dont have to pay for children on eurostar who are under 4 so dd2 was free (dd1 will be 4 on the 7th sept so had to pay for her)

wonderwomanakaeandh · 03/07/2008 16:47

all those costings were for 2 adults and 2 children btw

LIZS · 03/07/2008 16:58

£600 for 5 nights is quite good especially if it includes passes. If you select 3 or 4 night Disney packages an extra one can be free or nto much more. We're going end of August and are paying about £400 4 nights for 2+2 at a Marne la Valle hotel, b and b only. Passes will add another £150 odd. Agree it is probably too long for just Disney though, we're going to spend a day in Paris too,as kids now old enough to appreciate it, then a week elsewhere.

wonderwomanakaeandh · 03/07/2008 17:23

if you meant £600 overall I think that a great price ours is £572 for 4 days and 1 child aged 20months (so pretty much travels free) or did you mean the £600 was just for eurostar??

SugaryBits · 03/07/2008 19:09

The £600 was just for the eurostar! I'm going to have a look at the eurostar site to see if it comes up any cheaper. We only need to pay for 2 adults and 1 child so I though £600 seemed alot.

eek , you'd probably be able to get a package cheaper . Try expedia

wonderwomanakaeandh · 03/07/2008 19:12

what station would you travel from (only certain stations go direct to disney)

piratecat · 03/07/2008 19:15

we flew, just alot less hassle fo rus as we are in the westcountry.

we stayed at the Santa Fe, which was very basci, but clean, and tbh all we needed.

the hol for me, mum and dd6 sharing a room, was £350, that was beg of oct last year. The flights were £70 each return.

piratecat · 03/07/2008 19:17

oh we did 5 nights, prob too long, but we were going to do a trip into paris, but ended up going shopping in a nearby shopping area on one of the days.

The nice thing was that we didn't feel rushed, and felt like we had had a holiday.

i booked thru the disney site online.

di d flights separetly.

SugaryBits · 03/07/2008 19:23

We would be travelling from London. I am just looking at prices for 4 nights now!

The Dream Castle Hotel and park tickets come to 602, adding on the eurostar takes the total to 1274!

piratecat · 03/07/2008 19:25

wonderwomanakaeandh · 03/07/2008 19:26

Going from london to disney direct leaving either 7.30 or 9.30am on monday 8th sept returning 5.45pm on friday 12th it would cost £272 for 2 adults and one child

SugaryBits · 03/07/2008 19:28

Was that price from the eurostar site wonderwoman?

OP posts:
wonderwomanakaeandh · 03/07/2008 19:29

£275 for all of you going tues 9th to friday 12th (although I think most disney hotels woron on a mon-thurs or fri-mon booking)

piratecat · 03/07/2008 19:30

thats a much better price (states obvious)

wonderwomanakaeandh · 03/07/2008 19:30

woran= work

yep that was on eurostar website selecting london to disney andthen when it gives you the time options look underneath and it says 1 change or direct select direct. The only drawback is non flexible tickets but to be honest it doesnt really matter if you know when you want to go and come back
