Eurostar Parking

Hi1985 · 27/10/2026 09:45

Hello, I hate flying so like to catch Eurostar to my holiday destinations where I can. I have to drive from Wales and I am looking for easy places that are not to expensive to park. I want to park for 2/3 nights in a secure car park. Ideally, I’d like it where I can walk to the Eurostar station or maybe catch a direct tube (under 30 minutes.) In the past we’ve stayed overnight in London but this is a trip to Amsterdam that I’d like to do as cheaply as possible
has anyone got any parking recommendations at all??

Waterloo car park (not the station one, it’s tiny) is only a short walk. I think we paid £25/24 hours when we had to use it.

I don't have any recommendations sorry @Hi1985 but the Eurostar terminal has been at St Pancras rather than Waterloo for several years so I would look in that area.

Having said that, we always park at Cockfosters tube station and tube it in. Not for Eurostar but for nights out in London. It's not especially secure tho (just an open car park). It's about £10/11 per day (depending on the day – £9 at weekends). About 35 mins max to Kings Cross.

Is it secure and suitable for 2/3 nights?

The Eurostar terminal is in central London, so any parking around there will be very short term and expensive.

TBH I can't think that petrol and parking for four days in London is going to be any cheaper than getting the train to London from Wales.

Ginmonkeyagain · 27/10/2026 10:51

oh and it is in St Pancras - which is not near Waterloo.

BIWI · 27/10/2026 10:52

Why don't you get the train instead?

Skybluecoat · 27/10/2026 10:52

I would get train to London. Eurostar departs from St Pancras.

parietal · 27/10/2026 10:52

Driving to St Pancras and parking sounds crazy. Why not get a train from wales to London and leave the car in wales?

clary · 27/10/2026 10:54

Yes I agree tbh. Surely the train will be cheaper than secure parking anywhere near St Pankers. Like I say, if I wanted to drive I would park on the edge somewhere (I mean C/fosters is handy for us as we come down the M1 but I guess somewhere more western edge of London would be better from Wales unless you are a fan of the M25). No way on earth would I drive in central London now unless it was a life or death type thing.

It's worth looking into Lomax carparks in the area (St Pancras/Euston). I've used them a lot and they've been very helpful and friendly.

Seeline · 27/10/2026 11:04

Whilst St Pancras is outside the congestion zone, it is on the very edge, so parking nearby may be within the zone - so that's 2 x £18 pounds on top of parking. If you have an older car, you may also have the ULEZ charge as well.

OP please don't spend time looking at Waterloo - the Eurostar terminus is at St Pancras.

yes this @Hi1985 - the Waterloo advice is very out of date; the terminal has been at St P for almost 20 years.

onmylastnerveseriously · 27/10/2026 12:17

The train will be much quicker and less fuss! Driving and parking 🅿️ in central London is an absolutely horrible experience

angelcake20 · 28/10/2026 00:40

Getting the train to London would be most sensible. Otherwise, perhaps look at somewhere like Luton station car park where you can easily get a train to St Pancras. Lots of people park there for the airport so several days is definitely possible.

tinyspiny · 28/10/2026 00:44

Drive to Ebbsfleet , which is on the correct line , park there and then get the train up to St Pancreas . I think it’s about £40 for 3 days

WizzyBizzy · 28/10/2026 00:53

Luton, Ebbsfleet and - frankly - train from Wales are v good advice. I work locally to St Pancras and can’t think of a single place to park that would make sense for a few days.

clary · 28/10/2026 06:17

Luton and Ebbsfleet are not on the way from Wales though (any more than my half baked Cockfosters suggestion!).

I guess there must be a west of London option tho then you would have to change on the tube. Just get the train to Paddington op - unless you're a group of four it'll be cheaper and easier. probs quicker too.

My DBro lives in West Wales. He parks at Hounslow West Station when he needs to get the tube into London.

That's a top tip then for westerners :) £9 a day and free at the weekend, excellent! I love a good bit of parking intel.

About 50 mins to King's Cross on the lovely Piccadilly line, no changes @Hi1985

Eurostar is not at Waterloo. You can get the tube though.

eurochick · 28/10/2026 07:33

This thread is like a time warp with the Waterloo and ebbsfleet suggestions. As others have said, the Eurostar hasn’t departed from Waterloo in many years. And the ebbsfleet service stopped during covid and never restarted.

Sparrowsandbudgies · 28/10/2026 07:54

We went via Eurostar in June from Norfolk. Honestly you’d be best to get the train down the night before and stay in one of the many Premier Inns or Travelodge around the St Pancras area.

User478 · 28/10/2026 08:06

We park at Uxbridge or Rayners lane and tube in, but it's closer to an hour than 30 mins.

Eurostar trains haven’t stopped at Ebbsfleet for years. So this advice is also out of date.

Id second the train op.
