I am visited Krakow in October half term with 2dc, ages 10 and 14. We were going to book the salt mines tour but the more I read I'm not so sure! Do think people think it is worth it? My 10 year old moans if we walk too far!

If you are looking for other things to do there is a waxworks museum in Krakow that is famous for being bad. We really enjoyed it - laughed a lot at some of them.

Walked past this today. The wax works at the entrance are so bad they are funny.

@yoyouKrakow is fabulous. It feels bizarrely peaceful for a big city. Even McDonalds was a parallel universe. It’s absolutely amazing! My diet is on hold though!

Sorry you missed out but it sounds like you need to make a return visit 😊

Currently on the train back from the salt mine. It is amazing! Though I think young children would find it quite boring and it’s a lot of stairs and walking. The lift back up
was a bit hair raising!

My kids were both under 5 and really enjoyed it, (and talked about it for years) but I suppose it depends on the child.

Didnt rate it at all. Pinball museum was great though!

Edited

The pinball museum was a few doors down from where I stayed. I’ve booked to go again in January, so I might pop in!

We did the miners route at the salt mines which is a variation on the normal tour. Very interactive and it suited my teens perfectly.

It was one of the highlights of our visit. Loved them

What was the difference? I wondered about doing that tour but opted for the basic one.

@InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing It isnt the typical route that the other tour does. Its about 20 or so people with a guide. You're given mining overalls and a helmet. You walk through the mine stopping at different parts and the guide talks you through the history/geology etc.

You end up cutting wood/climbing through things. It was fun and my teens and I really enjoyed it.

We took a taxi from Krakow very cheaply.
