Is it odd to take a solo week on holiday to the beach?

I have a favourite holiday destination. It’s a little island with a couple of hotels, but most people rent a villa. A few beaches and good local restaurants.

I have a busy job and DH doesn't fancy visiting the island again. Is it weird if I take myself off for a week?

I’m just imagining staying in a cottage on my own and driving to the beach for a couple of hours when I fancy. Otherwise I can cook and read my book or maybe have a glass of wine and early nights!

Not weird.

My widowed dad has just take himself off for a week holiday. Has done it a few times.

I always travel solo - do it. (I dislike travelling with others now!).

My DH and I moved to the USA east coast for 3 years he was busy working and I became a lady of leisure. I visited lots of beaches went to theatres museums and cinema all alone and it was great.

He hates beaches anyway and I read loads of books and ate at places I enjoyed.

Go for it there is no need to compromise have fun.
