Recommendations for a mid-range Las Vegas hotel with a decent pool?

Any recommendations for a Las Vegas hotel? Me and DD (20). April 2027. Would like to be central ish in the strip and have a decent pool. Mid range price probably, definitely can’t afford top end.

Any recommendations stations for activities LV, Grand Canyon and Arizona based would also be great. Would love suggestions of things I might not have thought of.

The Trump hotel, can’t stand the man but I went before he was president and what I liked about it was that it was quiet, didn’t have a casino and all the rooms were non smoking. It was high end at a cheaper price due to not having a casino. It was right near the action but you could step away which I liked

Planet Hollywood is decent enough, but it really isn’t a patch on the Bellagio.

The Flamingo is good if you go for the refurbished rooms - the location is excellent right opposite Caesars and the Bellagio. Check out the Linq, Planet Hollywood and the Horseshoe too.
Deffo do the trip to the Grand Canyon - it’s a whole day but really worth it
Book tickets for the Sphere, watch Cirque du Soleil, check who’s in town doing a residency and book tixs for that, Mob Museum is excellent, have brunch at the Bellagio, have the buffet dinner at the Wynn. Visit all the hotels - each one is different - and you could easily spend a couple of hours in each one. Our fave is the Bellagio

Thank you. I’m not interested in gambling so no casino wouldn’t bother me. Can’t stand Trump though…….

Thanks. I’d love to be able to splash out on Bellagio. Wishful thinking though

Thank you so much. Is the Grand Canyon worth staying at??? Or is a day trip enough?

Resorts World would be my ‘best value’ choice. Not as expensive as Bellagio and Caesar’s but still has a luxury feel, with lots of pools including an infinity pool.

It is a bit north on the strip, so I would go with Flamingo or the Paris for something more central.

Definitely see a show or two - I always time my trips to catch specific artists.

Will your DD be 21 by the time you go? Otherwise she can’t buy drinks.

We enjoyed the Flamingo, reasonably priced, central and nice pool.

schashme · 15/08/2026 10:39

We much enjoyed our visit to Valley of Fire over GC, we did the full 4+ hour drive to the south part of GC, it was lovely, if you’re going for 7 days I’d do it, if less I wouldn’t bother. Do Hoover Dam on the way.

anywhere that doesn’t add resort fees, they can be $50 a night even mid range so you think you’re getting a deal, but actually not

freezingmytoesoff · 15/08/2026 10:49

We stayed in the Aria last year, was fab but very busy casino floor

You just need to factor it into the price of the hotel when comparing rates. Vegas hotels are so cheap in comparison to most places it’s usually still a reasonable rate overall.

We did it as a day trip. Once on a mini van with 8 others - great day out but really long. We’ve also done it as a helicopter ride.
We preferred it with the mini van as we got to stop at the Hoover Dam, the main viewing points etc

Agree with this - if you book with BA for example they factor it into the total price of the holiday. Room prices are good esp when you consider the size of the room and the hotel facilities.
Vegas is good value in general and eating out is very reasonable. Plenty of high end options eg Hells Kitchen, The Wynn etc and also really cheap eats like In-Out Burgers. The buffets are incredible and very good value so if you take your time (we once spent 4 hours at the breakfast buffet at the Bellagio)

Thanks all. Lots of useful information.

Several of you have suggested the Flamingo but the Trip Advisor reviews are awful. Some are saying the pool is manic, which is not really our cup of tea.

We are in the USA 8 days. Planing 3 nights LV, then ? GC, then Arizona especially Sedona I think. Open to options. Xx

We went in April and the pool absolutely wasn’t manic (mid week at least) April isn’t peak pool season, you’ll actually need to check if the pools are open when you go as that it is the edge of pool season. It was too cold for me to go in as it wasn’t heated.

I love the lazy river at the MGM , when we visit we usually stay at Palazzo but always buy a pool day at MGM and have stayed the odd night there - it’s ideally located too so I’d suggest there

Missmydog20 · 15/08/2026 14:55

Has anyone been to New York New York resort? Xx

DollopOfFun · 15/08/2026 14:57

Planet Hollywood was fine for us for 3 nights, location wise it's great. It has two decent size pools- though we only went in the pool once as we had loads of stuff planned (including Grand Canyon) whilst we were there. It wasn't rowdy or anything, but very 'pool party' vibes. Lots of teeny bikinis, cocktails and cabanas etc

schashme · 15/08/2026 15:03

Haven’t stayed at NYNY, it’s a lovely looking resort and fun to visit although I’d personally prefer to be more central, NYNY is quite far down one end of the strip.

Lots of the hotels along the strip have bad reviews including the Bellagio. Pay for a refurbished room and you’ll be fine at the Flamingo.
Check the Linq, Paris, Horseshoe etc

schashme · 15/08/2026 15:10

I don’t know what the Paris reviews and pool are like but if I was on a budget I’d take a look there if you’re not keen on flamingo (but agree with pp flamingo if you buy a refurbished room is lovely, we paid for a refurbished strip view room).
