Recommendations for a mid-range Las Vegas hotel with a decent pool?

Any recommendations for a Las Vegas hotel? Me and DD (20). April 2027. Would like to be central ish in the strip and have a decent pool. Mid range price probably, definitely can’t afford top end.

Any recommendations stations for activities LV, Grand Canyon and Arizona based would also be great. Would love suggestions of things I might not have thought of.

Has anyone been to New York New York resort? Xx

It’s a nice hotel but we like to be more central - you’ll either jump in an uber or walk to the centre of the strip if you end up anywhere past the Aria or The Wynn
Check the Paris, Planet Hollywood, Horseshoe, Flamingo, Linq, Harrahs for cheaper places to stay. BA and Virgin have good value deal

Try to check out the Neon Boneyard - it’s a blast of nostalgia. Also worth heading downtown for a few hours one evening - it’s very old skool vegas.

If you are planning to go to Arizona anyway as part of your trip, go to the Grand Canyon on the way to wherever you’re heading there, rather than taking a day out of vegas.

Do take a look at Vdara. We had a wonderful stay there. No smoking, no casino 5*. It was inexpensive, had a fabulous pool and a quiet, calm, upscale atmosphere, but was still on the strip (set behind Aria.)

Resorts World describes itself as ultra luxury or similar. It’s huge and worth a look for offers. It’s near The Wynn so further up the strip but worth it. I can usually get a great deal there, better than Caesar’s and other mid range hotels the past two years. As others have said, check the whole price as resort fees are shocking. Expedia and BA usually have good deals, some prices change multiple times per day. Link and Aria have good deals and the Marriott before the Cosmopolitan is a great non casino apartment hotel with a small pool. It’s not glamorous, but huge rooms and spaces. Do the big buffets and a show. You’ll love it, it’s the place I feel safest.

Do you want 'Vegas silly' or upscale hotel?
The Luxor is silly... It's a giant pyramid, but it's not luxury. It's totally fine, but more premier inn/ Travelodge.

If you want to wander around then go for middle of the strip, Flamingo, Belagio, Caesars or the Cosmopolitan.

Luxury? The Wynn looks and smells amazing.

Trip advisor is weird for Vegas, you've got people who are there for fun, some who are there for work/conferences, restaurants get wrapped into hotel reviews and Americans get upset about what they regard as poor service, but we wouldn't bat an eye at.

You can drive to the Grand Canyon and stay in Flagstaff which is a nice town close to the entrance.

We used to love treasure Island, and their buffet was amazing, well located on the strip too! It was a few years ago, so maybe somebody could update what it is like now.

Has anyone been to New York New York resort? Xx

The pool at NYNY isn’t the best and is shaded most of the day by the buildings. On top of that, the rollercoaster goes overhead and so you hear people screaming all day!

MGM Grand is directly opposite and has a great pool area though - including lazy river.

Take a look at Fountainblu. It’s further up the strip but not hard to get anywhere. Pool area is lovely, less manic than many at the lower end of the strip, and shade without having to rent cabanas. Very new so clean, well appointed rooms.

Aria is decent too, I like the location but a lot busier than Fountainblu. Mandalay Bay is ok, but a lot of conferences in there which can get a bit crazy.

Personally I dislike New York New York, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM etc. I think they are just on the tackier side and the rooms are not great.

Thank you all so much. Lots to look at today. Xx

I think I’d have liked the Vegas silly, just because I’ll probably never go again. Don’t mind basic rooms, but I do want it clean!

I have stayed in quite a few for work. Best pool mgm grand, Mandalay for something a little quieter. Cosmopolitan for lounging around with drinks.
