Peppa Pig World or Legoland

4.5 year has asked if we can go, it would only be to one of them. For those that have been, which would you say is better for whatever reasons?

Would likely try and book a night close-ish but budget. Any recommendations gratefully received!

Definitely Paultons, unless your dc is a huge Lego fan. It has a lot of rides suitable for that age, not just in the Peppa Pig area. We've done both many times but found Paultons to have shorter queues and much less busy and stressful. The parking is better too at paultons and it's free. There's a premier inn very close by and plenty of hotels in a short drive.

AndTheSnakesStartToSing · 04/08/2026 20:01

Paulton’s Park, it’s no contest. Plenty to do outside of pep’s pig world too.

Onyuk · 04/08/2026 20:01

Paultons all the way. Shorter queues and much cleaner. Lots of rides for little ones in all areas

notwittywithusernames · 04/08/2026 20:03

Wow thank you!
i don't. Know anyone who has done either, DC is really into lego, but also Peppa so I was a bit...this os going to be a bit pricey so wanted to try and make the right choice!

Another Vote for Pepper Pig world 🐷

Sounds like it will be Peppa then!

I love Paultons but my answer would entirely depend on WHEN.

If you’re going in high season I’d say Paultons, because the queues at Legoland ruin it. If you can go off peak - say on an inset day in September - I’d say Legoland. Simply because Legoland rides are not much fun above age 6 or 7 imo whereas there are good rides at Paultons when the kids are older so you could easily do that when dc is 9+ years old.

If you do decide to stay at Legoland I recommend staying in Wokingham town centre premier inn. It is about 30 min drive to Legoland and next to a park with a playground, lots of nice restaurants, and an Aldi adjacent. A family room is often <£50 a night (plus £5 for WiFi and cost of parking if you need that).

ArtfulScreamer · 04/08/2026 20:11

I've not done Legoland but we did Paultons two weeks ago and it was great. We went on a day trip before we went on a cruise and if I'd have known how good it was I'd have gone down a day earlier and done 2 days at Paultons. Even with very reasonable que times we still didn't get round it all and they do a cheaper second day offer so take advantage of that if you can.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 04/08/2026 20:11

Go to Peppa now, she’ll grow out of her soon. Legoland will last longer.

TweetTwewt · 04/08/2026 20:12

Agree with all the above. Unless you go on a random rainy school day the Legoland queues are horrendous and they have no entertainment.

Also, your DC is unlikely to like Peppa for much longer, so make the most of this stage!

macaroon8 · 04/08/2026 20:13

Paultons every time

Totaldramallama · 04/08/2026 20:14

Paultons is great, lots of rides outside of Peppa pig as well. Legoland is fine too. DD was 7 when we went so I think I'd missed the boat as it felt aimed at very young children, but at 4.5 would be good.

When and what day of the week would you go? Paultons don't offer any fast past type things but if you go on a week day, even in the summer holidays, queues are really well managed. I was there today and nothing longer than 30mins, and you could ignore those until the queues decreased as loads of rides had no queue at all

In my experience, even the inset days are heaving at Legoland!

Totaldramallama · 04/08/2026 20:16

I meant to add I went to Legoland on a school inset day so a week day and the queues were absolutely bloody tedious, no idea how people cope on a weekend

Edit as I see several pp have mentioned this too

IlikethoseBalenciagas · 04/08/2026 20:26

Paultons. Totally worth it.

pepayfelix · 04/08/2026 20:29

I agree Paultons is much, much better, especially for that age. It’s cleaner, better catering, shorter queues, just generally a better experience.

Dozer · 04/08/2026 20:33

Much preferred Paulton’s

Paultons Park is really good.

Zapx · 05/08/2026 01:12

Another vote for Paultons. Can’t stand legoland with all the queue passes etc.

Goingmadddd · 05/08/2026 01:15

If your staying in the hotel then Legoland as you get early entry and the hotel Lego room is fun. I wouldn’t do it again but so pleased we did it as an experience.

If not paultons. Super impressed with Paultons. It is so clean and there’s not a single whiff of gone off dried ketchup which seems to be theme park smell for me 🤢

So to summarise paultons a dream park - ques, food, cleanliness, rides etc. But the excitement of Lego itself is hard to beat and I do think we had more fizzy excitement wow moments at Lego than paultons.

NatWestPigFamily · 05/08/2026 01:18

Hey, definitely Paultons park/ Peppa Pig world. We have been twice and did the 2day break. First day in park with an overnight hotel stay, then a second day in the park free. The second day we had an early breakfast and then went to the park early to avoid the queues. So much to do, the dinosaur land is really good and both my boys at similar ages loved it. We have also been to Legoland and enjoyed it but the compared break is a lot more expensive. Have fun!

Goingmadddd · 05/08/2026 01:18

And thinking about it. I think the hotel works because you work backwards. So you have early entry and are making your way from the back of the park. Most people are coming the opposite direction. Midday is chaos time but you can sit that out in the play areas/ food. And then as day closes you work your way back as everything is emptying out. We had numerous goes on the driving track with no Que as it was about to close but most guests had to leave 30 minutes earlier just to get across the park.

LoserWinner · 05/08/2026 01:28

My son and his GF have two children and swear by the Peppa Pig one, so much so they bought a family pass.

notwittywithusernames · 05/08/2026 03:06

Sounds a fairly unanimous thumbs up for Paultons! Thank you all for your thoughts. Will be doing it in the next couple of weeks so about as peak time as it comes!

I have a few unexpected days off work from the middle of next week which makes about a 10 day window(so can be flexible ish) any suggestions of the best time to go?

It is doable drive wise in a day from where we are but thinking to make it a bit of a treat/less stress for getting up and out early to get a room for before and after - premier inn or such (she doesnt ask for much, other than santa really really has to bring her a sparkly unicorn this Christmas- have to work on that one!)

She's an easy going little girl who has asked for her forst holiday with just mummy and her..I'm honoured!
