Chocolateisameal · 16/11/2025 18:38

You could have a fantastic trip to India.

MidnightPatrol · 16/11/2025 18:38

Caribbean - look at BA holidays the flights are quite cheap in Feb at the moment.

Barbados flights very good value.

Sri Lanka? Bali?

Sundayagain27 · 16/11/2025 21:15

For ease I think of like to find a package where all is organised in terms of accommodation and flights but the BA ones don’t have the sort of smaller boutique / authentic hotels and when I’ve enquired with Trailfinders/ flight centre etc prices much higher !
I'm obviously looking for a ruby in a haystack.

If you don’t mind a bit of a flight https://www.margaretriver.com/towns/busselton/

February will give you all the sunshine and beach you want and need.

Radiatorvalves · 17/11/2025 10:55

If you want beach, avoid Europe in February. Think Caribbean, SE Asia, Seychelles, Mauritius, Maldives…. Sorry I haven’t got any recommendations.

Lordofmyflies · 17/11/2025 14:21

Jordan or Oman? Short flight, interesting history, great food and amazing beach resorts.

We went on an organised tour of India for that price in February. It was great the end was some beach time in Goa.

TUI fly direct to Thailand and you could get a lovely holiday there. Beaches, temples , great food.

mamagogo1 · 17/11/2025 16:28

I booked India via the co-op in Walsall, they use an Indian travel agency to make the arrangements, including hotels (b&b), private driver and private tours, all entrance fees included. Hotels varied but all were western standard, not boutique particularly, think brand names. We ate however in local restaurants where we saw no other English people, food was amazing and very reasonable. Just one thing to note, alcohol is expensive so not a great option if you like boozy holidays (we did have beers and gins but not like a typical holiday)

Twilightstarbright · 17/11/2025 20:31

We did Sri Lanka for 10 days in Feb years ago. We’ve done Thailand for that duration too.

Miami and Road trip to the Keys?

Maldives?

Oman?

LesLavandes · 17/11/2025 20:52

Oman is very expensive

Sundayagain27 · 17/11/2025 21:00

DH and I are going to Barbados for about half that budget, but we are renting an Air BnB cottage, not a hotel.

Yes they are called Distant journeys.
Things I'd wished I'd known/ you could arrange your own flights if you've got points etc. our flight booked through them as part of the package was with virgin so was great .

You can extend the Goa bit which I really wish we'd done
My husband who is the most risk adverse person you could meet wanted to cancel because of all the negative stories people told us after we'd booked but now says it was his best holiday ever!!

TeamGeriatric · 17/11/2025 22:15

Sri Lanka or Thailand are likely to be cheaper than the Carribbean. Been to both but not on a package holiday, I love Thailand personally. Dominican Republic is generally the cheapest Carribbean option, not been so that's not a personal recommendation but for price comparison purposes it might be a good option. Cape Verde also a possibility, but I think like Dominican Republic people tend to stay in the hotel all the time, very much fly and flop.

No we never use agencies but I use Audley travel or intrepid for itinerary ideas.
